After seeing the reviews we decided to come for breakfast. This is an older restaurant that really needs to be updated. I love retro diners but old dirty carpets just don't work in an eating establishment. The staff are fabulous. The tables and chairs are clean. The service very good. Food portions are large so for those who like big meals you would be happy with this. The omelet I ordered only comes with toast, hashbrowns are extra however the portion is so big I couldn't have eaten any. The omelet is loaded. Too full for me but my husband liked it. Tons of ham and mushrooms but not enough green onions and tomatoes. To my taste, mushrooms were canned as it tasted a bit rubbery. Then again my husband said they were fine. It's about your taste. Prices are very reasonable for the portions you get. Having said all this, I do recommend this place to try it. I like to support local restaurants and I would come back and try something else.
This older style restaurant does not fail to deliver a BIG breakfast that tasted amazing! I'm a big eater and struggled to finish it with my old school eat what you take family morals. My wife's massive omelet we took 1/2 with us and could easily be shared.The bathrooms are in "very" rough shape so if you can hold it I suggest waiting. ?
Excellent Salisbury steak especially the deluxe edition. Very tasty indeed. It's my favorite without a question. Good job people, keep it coming is all I can say about it!!
We had a good breakfast at Alice’s a few weeks ago the Eggs Benedict hit the spot the portion was right on so was the price service was okay . The place is old school which is cool but there’s nothing cool about the bathroom”NASTY”not sure who’s responsible for the up keeping and sanitation , there’s no doubt it’s going to be a expensive fix “It needs a lot of love”.
Waitress was super nice . The food though was amazing was breakfast time so if you want a great breakfast and also the prices are crazy amazing Alice's is my new favorite place for breaky ..... U will love their food ..... Cook is awsum if u see this your great cook perfecto!!!!!!!!
Big meal for the price. I had the Western omelette and boy they loaded it with ingredients. Service was fine, the waiter was pleasant. The other person wasn't as customer service oriented. I think it may have hurt for him to smile. Overall, I don't think a customer would be disappointed with the food and it much better than chain restaurants.
When dining with a larger group it can sometimes be hard to find a place that will satisfy everyone, but Alice's really does have something for everyone. The picky eater, the all-day Breakfast fan, the meat lover, and whoever else you're with. Also the prices are super reasonable for a good sized meal.
The food was tasty, but I only picked basic items. Done is the menu looks amazing though, like the sweet and salty pancakes! Next time.Service was slow but only because they got slammed and there was a huge group without a reservation. The food still came out hot. Prices were much more reasonable than other places in town, which was a welcome adjustment.Check them out!
Give this place a chance. You’ll regret it otherwise. For a group of 5 who all ordered different food (breakfast, lunch , and dinner food) everyone raved about the quality and quantity.The food was delicious and filling. It’s has a diverse menu that reminds me of a 60s diner. Everything you can imagine but all well made with big portions. We’ve been to a lot of other places in Nanaimo but this place is top their.
I didn't check-in nor had a chance to eat in their restaurant or what so ever. But I like the vibe of this area somewhat old-school. It was located further south of the city. Good place to bring your partner this valentines day! ?
