This is the best sushi in maple ridge
New opening was awesome so beautiful, food and service was fabulous as it was 2 years ago!
Terrible service, mediocre food, way too noisy, crowded, and slow...really really slow. Rgey simply are not as good as they think they are and you cannot justify those prices for such a poor experience, basically it's just a trendy place for posers to be seen.
shinobi in maple ridge burned down. They now have shinobi express on 240th, same people. Here is my google review: it saddens me to have to give such a poor review. Let me start by saying the do have good sushi. What they do not have is ANY sense of time. On SEVEN occasions now I have ordered from them. (I think that shows i do have patience). I have gone there and ordered. I have gone online and ordered. I have phoned and ordered. Their online system tells you when it will be ready. I ALWAYS give it an added 15 minutes. Yet when i get there, I still have to wait 20 more minutes. When I phone in and ask how long it will be they tell me 45 minutes. I ask for it to be ready in one hour...nice to give them extra time. Still had to wait 20 more minutes PAST the one hour. When i have gone there and ordered directly, same thing, never ready when promised, always at least 20 minutes late, twice over 40 minutes! So then last time i thought I will call in, take the time they suggest, go early to pay....should work right? NO, AGAIN, IT IS 20 MINUTES SLOW. Today was the last straw. Called at 5pm. They could have it ready at 545. I said i will be there to pickup at 6pm. Got there at 545, paid, SHE said it would be ready at 6pm. Got back at 6pm sharp, not ready. At 610 i said give me my money back i am done. THEN the chef said ...one more minute....almost done...i waited two minutes, finally got it. They have lost my business. Lots of sorry, sorry, Lots of promises like before that they would do better. Offered me a discount for next time...NOT INTERESTED! It is not about the money, it is about doing what they promise. THEY DON'T So if you want good sushi and do not care if they get it done when promised, then go here...EXPRESS it is not.. If you want good sushi AND have it ready when you were promised, go to ABURIYA on Dewdney just east of Edge street. Been there over 50 times and NEVER once have they failed me. Shinobi is closer but i will drive to Aburiya.
We ordered Shinobi Express twice now and we have to say we were very disappointed, the food was awful both times. The rice was stale, the cucumbers in sunomo salad were straight up rotten and to top everything off there was a nice big hair in our food. When I arrived to pick up my order the girl packaging our food wasn't even wearing a mask ? and when we placed the order the person on the phone was coughing the whole time. We understand that after closing the one store and going through a pandemic that things are tough for everyone. But spending $80 on a disgusting meal and over $100 the first time is simply not right. We went to Shinobi on 227 previously and used to rave about how good it was. It's just gone straight downhill and they need to figure this out not to mention look into their reviews because it's seems we are not the only ones feeling this way. We all feel gross after eating and will not be going back a third time.
Really bad service at new location! They close at 9PM but stop taking orders at 7 would not recommend going!
Soo happy Shinobi is open! (express location at 240th) Everything was delicious and fresh as always, highly recommend!
Shinobi Sushi is always good. However when I mentioned over the phone that I wanted my slushes to have pearls in them neither of them had any. I was also told over the phone that it would take less than an hour but it took an hour for food to arrive. Food was cold and miso soup was cold so I’m a little disappointed.
I love this place. I would come here for lunch almost everyday I worked in maple ridge! Upsetting they closed due to a fire. However, there chicken yakiudon is one of the best I have ever had at any other establishment. Can’t wait for them to open up again! I also recommend the teriyaki chicken roll and the miso soup!
Every time they continue to surprise me! Obsessed with their vegetarian options :)
