Il Corsaro- an Italian treasure tucked away in an ordinary stretch along Dewdney Trunk in Maple Ridge. A cozy little Italian Pasta Bar. But there's nothing ordinary about this restaurant. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you are greeted by the sleek elegance of the decor and the charming Italian hospitality- totally reminiscent of an upscale dining offering. My husband and I had randomly picked the restaurant for our dinner tonight not realising we were in for a treat. This was our first visit there and will not be the last for sure. From the time we got in till our meal ended, everything was as perfect as it could be. The meal selection was great. We had their special Prawn appetizer and shared a Pasta dish ( we are both small eaters)- Linguini with Genovese Sauce and Wild Mushrooms. Both dishes were so flavourful and satisfying. The Pasta portion was humongous- even after we had our fill, there was still leftover to take home! As full as I was, I couldn't resist their Dark Chocolate Truffle ice cream- a perfect ending to a delectable meal. The pricing was reasonable considering the quality of the food, service and ambience. We were particularly pleased with the service staff Amanda and her team who were professional, courteous and attentive. All in all, great random pick. Will return for sure!
Great service, great food, owner is intentive to the needs of the customers, and the staff mimic this very well. Good teamwork from the staff. House white is sooo good with the food.I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants good Italian in maple ridge.
There was 4 of us. The restaurant was a delight to enter - clean, candles, wine glasses & cutlery on the tables. Very welcoming. Our drinks and orders arrived promptly, followed by ground pepper or cheese toppings. Our server followed up on our meals & we were very satisfied. We stayed a bit longer as we had theatre tickets a bit later. There was no pressure for more drinks or more food, while we sat chatting. A lovely experience.
Beautiful place for date night. Fiancé had the beef & gorgonzola manicotti and I had the penne vongolo rosso both were great and soup was awesome..nice and reasonable wine features.
Bit of a miss this time, a bit ordinary. Luckily had great company and good wine in a lovely atmosphere.
Always the best food, the best people and a great time. Highly recommend!
We were looking forward to a nice evening out and a good dinner, sadly this was not the case. The decor was nice and quite intimate. At the beginning of the evening our server was very friendly and helpful. We ordered grilled shrimp to start, which was quite tasty and for our entree 2 of us ordered pasta with clams in tomato sauce. When our dishes arrived, I could immediately tell the pasta was overcooked, we were expecting fresh clams on top, but there was none (we later found out the baby clams came from a can). While forking through the dish it was apparent the clams were miniscule in size (the size of a baby fingernail) and tasteless. When we pointed this out to our server she appeared to take it personally. After a few minutes a man came to our table (don't know who he was as he didn't introduce himself) and seemed to be taken aback by the fact we complained about our dinners. He had heard we didn't like our meals and then said I cannot take anything off the bill. After listening to us and explaining the clams are out of a can (from Italy) he dismissed us and walked away. Pathetic customer service and consequently we paid $40 for 2 fork fulls of overcooked tasteless pasta. Sadly it was an unfortunate dining experience, if I could have given it -5 stars as a rating I would have. If I could have given -5 stars that would be the rating.
One of the best pasta bars I’ve been to. Very flexible with their menu, great service, LOVED my dinner, very flavourful. At the end I asked for a part of another dessert to go with the dessert I wanted and with our hesitation they brought me a scoop of dark truffle ice cream to go with my tiramisu.
Will be back. Came for a Christmas party there was a group of us and had a great time. My husband and I will be back for date night..
Took my 3 kids out for nice Xmas dinner treat. The meal was a 3 course serving for 34.95 per person. I had been to this restaurant before and it was always excellent. The bread arrived and the only good thing about it was that it was hot and served with butter. Next the salads came. I could've stopped at Save on foods and picked up a clamshell of mixed greens and thrown some italian dressing on it myself. The 3 entrees were very good but my one son had the beef canneloni and there was one noodle immersed in sea of sauce. Very disappointing.... I was very excited for the dessert but it was super bland literally no flovor at all. If you are going to do a special like that with 3 courses , why rip people off by using substandard products for the salads and desserts? And charge 35 bucks a head.??? Cash grab if you ask me.... I called to speak to them and the owner himself was rude , wouldn't listen to what I had to say and hung up on me. We spent almost 200 dollars in that restaurant...I feel very ripped off and disrespected. Will never go back.
