The staff is consistently fantastic!!! They carry many local Okanagan brands. Love this store.

Great prices and friendly staff. I have been shopping here since I was in College. The selection continues to be outstanding.

Very conveniently situated for Capri area residents and walkable. Parking sometimes an issue especially in spring when they turn part of the parking lot into a garden store. Always have had friendly staff, Peter himself is very helpful. Prices can be iffy and on the expensive side.

My friend popped in after a long day and the store was pretty much empty. Since no one was around, he opted for the 1-12 express lane with 15 items in his basket. The teller started a big public row over the 3 items and he couldn't believe it.The last thing anyone wants to deal with is a rude, arrogant, entitled employee who obviously felt too lazy to ring his items through. If it had been busy, that's understandable. It was not busy and the teller was standing around doing nothing at the time.No wonder this store is vacant.?????

We love shopping here. Everyone is so helpful and genuinely kind, and Peter’s has the best selection of food and ingredients from around the world. Where else in Kelowna can you find your favourites from South Africa, Lebanon, Mexico, India, Japan, Jamaica, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Canada? There’s also so much support for local businesses - Italian Meatmaster sausages, Meat Republic Biltong, Las Mexicanas spices/sauces/tortilla, Antico Neapoletana, even produce grown by the local elementary schools and showcased with pride. I have seen Peter personally help a senior into her taxi, and am proud he was recognized by the federal government for his store’s inclusive hiring practices and helping new Canadians build a life in their new home. But what prompted me to leave this review today was he overheard my son telling me how thirsty he was and asking for water, and Peter himself gave him a bottle of the shelf and a card from him. The sense of community in this store and the quality of its products is what makes us proud to shop there and keeps us coming back. A big thank you to the Peter’s YIG team from our family.

I have mixed experiences at this place. Some cashiers are friendly but there were two that were rude for no reason. I was given a dirty look after asking for a bag once. And a different time a different lady cashier was super friendly and talkative with the person ahead of me. I said hello how are you today, she ignored me and scanned my items, totalled my order and just stood there waiting for me to pay with my card. She didn't say my total or asked how I was paying, nothing. I said Thank You and took my stuff only to hear her greet the people behind and start talking to them. Other than those two sour experiences, other staff have been friendly. They keep the store clean, but prices are kinda steep, and not a huge selection. Good for quick things you may need.

Peter's Independent Grocer is most convenient store for those people living around the Harvey/Bernard/Springfield area of town. The staff there are most helpful and friendly and they do have some more unusual foods ( I'm thinking of blood pudding for one). They also have specials on that are interesting such as on cerain brands of bread and coffee . It conveniently sells BC wines as well. The only drawback is that the vegetable section is not the best in terms of choice and freshness and the prices are generally higher here than at Superstore. In summer they have an interesting garden centre where prices are reasonable and plants are of good quality.

Everything exactly the same as Superstore. The same President's choice products the same customer loyalty card. Everything the same, except for the price. I suppose independent just thinks their store is worth more?? Perhaps independent just wants to blatantly rip off the public when it is very apparent that they are arbitrarily charging more for every product then Superstore and they are the same thing as Superstore including all of their products.

Shop here daily. Very offended when I went in with an ear ache, looking for help in the pharmacy section - found none so continued to try and decide what to get while feeling sick. I kept bumping into this lady and I would smile each time. I paid for my things and on my way out I heard that lady say to her coworker “I followed that girl and she did pay”. I am absolutely appalled. I am here every single day, I am a middle class citizen. While she was wasting her time following me, more things most likely got stolen. I went to try and talk with her and she walked swiftly away from me, I diverted my direction to customer service and she asked if it was the old lady and was like “oh sorry” in an I get in tone.

Love this store, quality and variety is great. The meat department always has great deals and will custom cut for customers. Lots of local products too.
