The rice is a bit hard and the sashimi is not really fresh except for the scallops. Shrimps are overcooked. It might be one of the best Japanese restaurants in Kelowna but I’m sure it’s just average quality and overpriced throughout Canada.
This place makes me wish I was a local. I will dream about the chicken Katsu and have cravings for the calamari. The service was friendly and efficient while the atmosphere was welcoming. This will be on my restaurant list for when I visit Kelowna.
Had the soba noodles with tempura veggies. The sauce for the soba was missing the grated daikon and was too salty as it was simply the soy sauce but the soba itself was good, and so were the tempura veggies. The tempura was fresh and tasty. Can't wait to try the other items on the menu!
This is our absolute favorite restaurant. Being new to Kelowna, this was the first place we tried for Japanese food and we've been going back ever since. Staff are kind and fun, food is fresh and delicious, and on top of that the prices are insanely low!
I could not recommend a place more. Authentic Okinawan cuisine. Amazing service. Fairly priced drinks and truly Japanese style plates. You cant go wrong for the price, taste or presentation of each. Go in any mood and leave feeling even better, I garuntee it. This isnt a "sushi spot" as we know in the west, this is an Izakaya, so don't expect an abundance of extravagant ridiculous rolls. This is real Japanese pub food. Easily one of the top 10 food experiences in Kelowna.
This was a very pleasant place to eat. Laid back with some very nice fresh and new dishes. Tasty for sure and will certainly be back!
Not sure what happened to this place, it used to be the best in town. I had a very poor experience here. Ordered a dynamite roll, a spicy tuna roll and a teriyaki beef roll. The dynamite roll had raw shrimp in it and the rice tasted very off. The beef roll had absolutely no seasoning. The spicy tuna was not spicy tuna at all. It was an off grey color. And not spicy whatsoever
My wife and I ordered takeout of two different rolls, two of each. A friend had recommended Kaede as his favourite sushi in Kelowna, and from this one visit, we can see why. The rolls were the best we can remember having anywhere - freshness, flavour, presentation, value for money. As a first impression, the establishment was clean, cozy, and the people friendly and professional. We're looking forward to many more meals from Kaede. Yes, the basic rolls menu is short, but we'd much rather have a small menu done right than pages and pages of mediocre food. These folks know what they're doing, and we'll be back.
Went on Thursday evening... had beer and sake, mabui roll, crispy crunch roll, raffe, sashimi, hamachi and spot prawn sushi. Service was friendly and fast, food was fresh and delicious! The only thing is that they have changed owners and name, so it was a bit confusing to find.
Found this gem after trying tons of sushi plaves since moving to kelowna, and this is by far our new favorite place! Super friendly staff, delicious food and great quality at a good value. I won't bother going anywhere else for Japanese food in this town!
