Not to many places on Salt Spring Island that deliver and Golden Island just raised the amount you have to order to make a delivery. They charge $10 for delivery fee where the other places who are further from me only charge $5 delivery charge and no minimum order. When your just a single person I don't need to order that much food. Plus there is the tip too. So sorry guys but I'll never eat there again. Reading other reviews I can't see you being open for long.
We ordered congee with sliced beef but what we got was congee with minced beef. If this is how they serve it, it should say that on the menu instead. The congee was under seasoned as well.
Restaurant is unreliable.On their "open sign" at the door, their website and their Google business listing, the hours are listed as opening at 11am.Currently it is Sunday at 1230pm and the restaurant is still closed. We tried calling them and there is no answering machine.There is no sign at the restaurant stating closure today.A couple other people were also waiting for the restaurant to open and stated that sometimes they open at 1215pm or 1230pm on Sundays and they left at 1230pm. What kind of restaurant operates like this?!Way to lose trust and respect for your business.Adjust your hours or show up when you say you are open.
Hong Kong owner and operator.The food is great and flavourful. Although I found their menu could a more A-La-Cart menus from more Traditional Chinese style food.Besides that, I have been a repeat customer for the few months since I moved here from Toronto.
There is no beef in ginger beef.Only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because other dishes I ordered ( beef with veggie and beef chow mein) were good.
