We live locally and keep trying it here to support it but keep getting let down, as do our neighbours. The menu needs serious revamping, we are getting tired of the same limited options over the last couple of years and the last four times we’ve been there, we haven’t been able to order what we wanted because they were out of ingredients. The last time we ordered they were out of our first three choices! We ended up with something we didn’t really want, and it was flavourless. Often we order something for takeout and there are ingredients missing in the order like no beets in the beet salad or no toppings on the chicken wings or ravioli. And we’ve gone to their special nights a couple of times and they’ve been sold out of the special by 6 o’clock. When you go to have the bacon wrapped sirloin special dinner and end up with a hamburger you could have gotten at Wendy’s for $5, that’s not good. It’s quite embarrassing when you also take out of town guests here and the restaurant doesn’t have menu items and they end up having something they didn’t really want. Its a very pricey place with smallish portions for some items, but you’d overlook that if it was a fully positive experience with delicious creative food. Servers are friendly and view is lovely.

Ahhh Black Iron. We keep trying to support you, time and time again for the last 2 years but whether we eat in or take out, we are always very disappointed. Beef dips so tough they are like shoe leather, fish and chips so overcooked they are inedible, 4 ravioli in a container with no topping or garlic bread for $22, no toppings on the Vietnamese wings, soggy cauliflower bites with no dip, a hamburger that gave one of us instant tummy trouble and came with only 5 fries, a beet salad that forgot the beets TWICE, forgotten items in our takeout bag, various menu items unavailable when eating there and more. Out of convenience, we gave you one last try the other day—awful—and it sealed your fate with us. Many other residents we know in the subdivision agree. We tried Black Iron, we really tried. No more. We aren’t picky people. We just want good food.And yes....we have tried to make contact a few times with the restaurant. Never returned our call or emails.
