First time went for dinner on happy Friday at around 7:45 pm , one table was occupied by that time. Ordered nabeyaki udon, tempura, delux assorted sushi, and delux chawasi don. Tempura is good with normal standard, sushi and sashimi is average quality. However, Sushi rice taste a bit salty compare with standard sushi rice…. Nabeyaki udon is below average , as it didn’t come with a pot, which should be the key feature of nabeyaki…and it came with a plastic bowl… the “chicken meat” with the udon tasted like kept in freezer for long time…
I have to say that I was quite disappointed with this place. Been living here for 10 years and finally got to try. The portion for the spicy chirashi don was quite small, sashimi was not super fresh and the sushi rice was likely undercooked as it was quite hard. Some pieces of the cucumber were also wilted. The wasabi has this weird green color to it and parts of it were dry?! I would definitely not recommend this place.
My 6vyear old really wanted a salmon roll so we went here. Friendly staff, great service, reasonable pricing.
Tasty sushi with great and friendly service. I ordered Spicy Salmon And Tuna Don. The fish was tasty and pretty fresh and I loved their spicy sauce. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
Awesome food…..really fresh! Well prepared. Perfect rice.So, why the 2?Terrible customer service. We had a problem and called them, and instead of helping us, they just said ‘ok, thanks’. She was rude and dismissive.Also, for the price we paid, the portions were extremely small. We will definitely try others in the area and hope we can find something great. We won’t be back.
Friendly service and the food was quick to arrive. Our favourite was the teriyaki chicken- delicious!!!!
Had that special roll - fried-Cali roll and it was delicious! Staff were friendly. A bit tight when you have to go to the restroom due to social distancing. Otherwise the food was delicious. Would return!
I’ve been coming to Sushi Wara for years since they opened. They are my favourite place to go for sushi in Surrey. The restaurant has changed in ownership since they opened but the quality of the food and the service has not wavered. I recommend the popcorn shrimp delight and popcorn shrimp special roll if you want to try something unique. I find their portion sizes for salmon sashimi very generous as well.Side note: In the first while when they opened, you would be greeted in unison by the staff upon entering the restaurant and I think they stopped because a couple people found it disruptive. I just want to say that I LOVED this because it created such an upbeat and welcoming atmosphere. Bring this back if possible!
Sushi wara has kept me well fed with beautifuly cooked Hamachi Kama and some specially made rolls. While recovering from a medical problem the staff helped to make my life easier by supplying me with excellent food and service. They even helped to make a special style vegetable roll to help with the amount of rice I was consuming. I would have had a very difficult recovery period without them. I eat with them 2 or 3 times a week, minimum. Thank you Sushi wara.
