Awesome staff and Uber awesome food !! Huge portions !! It’s my go to for a delish treat
This is my second attempt at the Skyhawk. I am firmly of the opinion that for the great cost that it takes to travel out to venues for meals overall (time, travel, fuel, meal, taxes, etc.). So here’s my rating.* Cost and ValueCost seems slightly higher than necessary. When I was young it was a quarter for a coffee and that wasn’t that long ago! $4.25 plus tax for a single, no-refill coffee is outrageous. French toast (on this visit) was a decent size and tasty. But still feels about $3 overpriced.* Customer ServiceThe service here knocks two stars off. Both of my visits the servers were snippy, abrupt and had so little patience that they wouldn’t stand for ten seconds to wait for change or an order to be made. Entirely uncooperative, very surface polite…but eye rolling etc = management needs to immediately give a customer service lesson to most of the staff. The server was totally unwilling to discuss dietary requirements, minor modifications or to check on food allergy concerns. If I was the manager of this place I would have fired the server on the spot. They were all old enough to know better and regardless of the difficulty of the customers they may deal with, in an almost empty place I expected MUCH better decorum.* Enjoyment and PresentationThe food was good, and presented decently. I would say there is a strong disconnect on what Canadian culture currently is, as vegetarian options were few and both the “veggie” soups when I went had meat bases! How disconnected from the food industry trends is the cook? Other than the rude server and a lack of options or cooperation, this rating is below average. Still passable if you need to have a filling meal while nearby.
We went there last Saturday after seeing suchgood reviews. It was around 4 pm when we arrived and we were planning to have some early dinner. Even though they say they are open til 5 pm everywhere and even on their door, they were closed. They didn’t bother to explain why they closed early too. I can’t say that they were friendly. I don’t think that we will go there again. Not professional..
We had a similar experience to many other reviewers: good, quick, friendly service and a unique view of the airport action while you dine, BUT it's waaaaay overpriced and some of the food was disappointing.
This is inside Boundary Bay Airport Terminal. The food is not the cheapest and the service wasn’t great either? I have never been served burger bun this obviously burned? Not a very good first impression of this place. Probably won’t be back too soon.
Have visited several times during Covid. Someday they were short staffed but they did well. Checked vac records, seated quickly. Food here is good basic food. Good value and decent proportions.
An excellent little restaurant with unexpectedly decent food. Right in the airport, it's got plenty of seating and a view of planes the entire time. Food was delicious, and I loved the poutine. Will definitely come back again.
Came here in Thanksgiving Monday with my daughter. She liked watching some of the action on the tarmac. I ordered a hot turkey sandwich which was good but was disappointed it didn’t come with stuffing. She had a kids meal with a hot dog which was just like the huge Costco ones. Had to order apple juice separately, wasn’t included with the kids meal. So like $12 for a kids lunch, but steep. But the regular meals seemed fair value. I liked how bright it was and felt like a diner. Service was friendly and efficient. I’d go again, nice view and entertainment for the kids.
Came here to have a coffee while watching some airplanes but the waitress wouldn’t even let us in. According to her and her manager, she’s not allowed to because she couldn’t scan the QR code on our vaccination cards (they’re from the EU) however with a bit of common sense the vaccination cards still clearly showed all necessary details such as name, dates and type of vaccine, you’d just have to use a bit of brainpower to read it.No other establishment had ANY issue with our vaccine cards while we were here, this was the only place that said “you can’t come in”.Staff and management need to be better educated if they ever want international travellers back.To any foreigners in Canada: DO NOT GO HERE! It’s a waste of time.
Awesome airport view. Outdoor seating are perfect spots if you wanna enjoy the nice weather and view. Usually not busy. Waitresses are friendly and helpful. Nice foods. Best place for family dining.
