The only reason this place is still in business is because of the absolute chokehold it has on Tsawwassen as the only Chinese Restaurant.Ordered food (4 dishes) at 4:30pm when they opened. We were immediately told it would be 2 hours (ridiculous) and they would call us when our order was being started. We waited 2 hours and did not receive a call. When we called to check on our order, the young man on the phone told us “I don’t know how long it will be, I was yelled at for asking and told I was being annoying.” Poor guy. We drove to Ocean Palace to wait for our order and saw absolutely nobody dining in. The restaurant was empty. We asked how much longer. “10 minutes.” 25 minutes later we received our order. We ordered food at 4:30pm, didn’t receive it until 7:45pm.This place is an absolute joke, from the way they treat their employees, to the length of time it takes just to receive your order. Nobody should have to wait nearly 3.5 hours to have their order ready, especially just 4 dishes of Chinese food. Next time we are ordering from Richmond, or grabbing something from Tsawwassen Mills Mall. Without a doubt it would have been faster. I would never recommend Ocean Palace or give them my business again. STAY AWAY!
Really good sliced beef with deluxe vegetables, the asparagus was thin cooked perfectly. The breaded almond chicken was very good I received 3 full breasts worth and it tasted excellent. Hard to get through to the place but it's so good its understandable.
Consistent great take out. Ingredients are fresh and flavorful. Just give enough time on busy weekends for your order during prime time.
Disgusting service . One hour for fried rice , stupid
To save you some time I'll give you the outcomes of trying to phone in and order food from this restaurant:1. They state that they are too busy and to call again later2. They answer and put you on hold for at least 30 minutes3. They try to change your order to make it easier for them to cook (no special requests)4. And lastly but certainly not least they will tell you that your food will be ready in 30 minutes when in reality it will be ready in an hour and 30 minutes
This place is top of the list for me. I drive from Richmond to enjoy the quality and quantity that Ocean Palace serves. Large portions with excellent quality. Hard to imagine I have to drive from Richmond to get good, quality Westernized chinese food. Many years ago we had Brighouse Cafe and Danny's Wun Tun "used to be" good value but nobody comes close to Ocean Palace.Where else can you get dinner for 4 with plenty of leftovers for $70.00 ?Ordered last night for Mother's Day and enjoyed leftovers tonight."Wake up Richmond"......Thank you to Ocean Palace. Well worth the drive and I will continue to make it. First time Google review. Not a fan of them or social media but Ocean Palace deserves the recognition.Dave

Tasty Chinese food at reasonable prices. I had to ask for more meat on the beef and tomato chow mean as it had next to no meat in it. Other than that the dishes are always tasty. It could be they try to cut corners, I did not know the cod was actually basa but I would be upset if I had paid for cod and got basa. They serve crispy noodles with some of the chow main dishes, if you want soft noodles be prepared to ask. The kicker here is that the restaurant is consistently understaffed, you can call for 20 minutes and not receive a person to take your order. Then if you manage to get through then you could wait up to 2 hours on busy weekends .
Thanks Ocean Palace for the verbals abuse from your employee tonight. I arrived after my call to pick up my food to be sternly told that my food wouldn’t be ready for 15 minutes...that was ok. Half an hour later, a long lost friend came in and we were commiserating and then said employee began to YELLLLL at us at the top of his lungs while he was one the phone with a customer and continued to verbally abuse us while waiting for our food. I can’t believe what the customer on the phone must have thought, but I was completely humiliated, embarrassed and wanted to crawl underneath a rock. As good as your food might be, it’s not worth the abuse your despicable staff treats the customers. Try harder and do better.
