Came here for the first time, the service was good. The food however, was thrown in the garbage. I didn't bother to complain, because I'd never return to this establishment again. The chicken was over salty and really dry, possibly a few days old. I' can honestly say this is the worst fried and dried chicken I've ever had.
Decent place, I liked their spicy chicken sandwich than fired chickens. Have good dine-in facility too.
Terrible customer service. Today, they had the national fried chicken day special at all Mary Brown's locations. And on their page they said no limits. My husband went today and the lady said their manager said there's a limit of 4. He showed her the screenshot of the comment from the Mary Brown's facebook page that said no limits and they kept arguing with him. Plus they charged extra for dark meat only. He went to the Guildford location and they told him no limits and didn't charge extra for dark meat. I called the store and expressed my disappointment with their terrible customer service. She just laughed and said bye. I will not go to this location ever again.
I have heard about Mary Brown's from family members and decided to give them a try. My chicken and fries were both lukewarm at best. I feel like the food must have been sitting there for awhile. Disappointed. I love fried chicken and was excited to try the taters, also cold. Customer service was great, macaroni salad was great. Was hoping for warm chicken and taters though.
This was my first time trying Mary Browns chicken. I was impressed. Both by the service and taste. The chicken was tender and crispy with a nice blend of spices. I had pieces and nuggets with lil wedges. I appreciated that the slaw was not put in a blender and tasted fresh. All was yummy. Keaira, was very polite, friendly and spoke clearly. I enjoyed my experience. I would recommend eating in or taking Mary Browns Chicken home. ?
Had no idea this location was open and I live down the street. It was immaculately clean on the inside and there was only one other customer aside from myself. The employees were friendly and efficient, I received my order in about three minutes. The chicken sandwich I ordered was crispy but was put together sloppy. It looked like a squished mess of a sandwich and the top bun stuck to the lid of the box. The chicken was moist, tender and the skin was crispy, not at all soggy. It was a decent chicken sandwich, a bit on the bland side but I tend to prefer bland food. The fries are thick cut and are seasoned, maybe could use a wee less salt but are tasty nonetheless. The Mac and Cheese salad is the bomb diggity dog and the banana creme desert is definitely a must do.
Great options. Great staff. Slightly dry chicken tenders. And I think its because more than 50% if my batter was not on my chicken. It didn't appear to fall off during frying, because my chicken would have been moist, but it appeared to just actually have coating on one side. When I looked at the tender when I first took it out, I could see that there was no batter and the frying oil had cooked the exposed chicken because the fibers were fraying and separating which completely dried out th3 chicken, giving it a powdery texture. Their popins chicken (tiny bite sized popcorn chicken) were great because of the seasoning and batter, but some pieces were dry and overcooked and some were great due to the variety in size of the little bite sized pieces.Gravy is great. Tater poutine is also good, but the variety in size of the wedges made the eating experience less than ideal because some potatoes were over cooked, some were perfect and some huge wedges were so undercooked it felt raw, so I had to remove them.)Seasoning is great though. Big Mary burger is great, but needs more pickles, not just one single transparent pickle coin on top of the bun, and it will make the bun wet if you aren't eating it immediately. There should be pickles inside for flavor as their original seasoning lacks a little something, and the burger itself was just lettuce, with a few questionable pieces of shredduce, plain white mayo, and chicken and a bland white bun with a wet pickle spot and that's it. It was way too plain. But, it was good for what it was. I would go back, but I wouldn't run back. The closest location to me is in Delta and I'm in New westminster, so for me personally, I won't be driving back to the area with their food as my main reason, and I do think I would go more often if there was a location closer to me. I'm hoping my less than great experience with dry unbattered chicken, and a plain big Mary and inedible poutine portions was just a one off, because there's a lot of potential here.
The fried chicken is consistent which is great and customer isn’t bad.Anytime you visit you will be welcomed in a friendly manner. The restaurant has ample seating and is extremely clean with a lot of parking outside. My only issue here is the wait times are sometimes long.I get it’s made fresh but at times you just want to order have a minimal wait and leave.COVID protocols are being followed here.
This location has problems with getting orders correct. I've been here several times and my order has always had something missing or incorrect. Also the burgers here have very thin chicken, always overcooked and stringy! I've called them a few times advising them not to overcook the chicken but I don't think they took the feedback. Leaving this hoping for some improvement.
Food is good, but pretty greasy. Their spicy chicken is really spicy, so keep that in mind. It's also soft-skinned rather than crunchy-skinned, which can be a pro or con based on your preference.
