I have lunched here occasionally for the past few years as the ambience, decor and service are all good. However, this past week, I ventured outside my usual standard fare of either a bowl of udon noodles or a bento box - and ordered a more expensive sashimi dish. A major mistake: not only were the slices of fish small and flaccid but the tuna slimy and decidedly “off”. Once slimed, twice shy… now the search is on for a quality Japanese restaurant in the area.
The last few times I ordered from here, the food just wasn't very fresh or tasty. I thought it was a one off so gave them another try or two, but sadly, it seems to be consistently poor quality now. A shame because their location is so close to me!
Food wasn't great, rolls were soft and mushy, sunimono was watered down, worst I've ever tasted. Servers were efficient but not pleasant. Won't be going back.
We ordered two yakisobas. I ordered mine with extra vegetables which was an extra dollar- no problem. But when we got home and started eating there were no vegetables other than a few pieces of cabbage. In other places they have carrots, pepper and broccoli. And it was a little too oily tasting. So much for a balanced meal.
I ordered through Skip the Dishes, and one of the items I ordered was over $17 and I was charged over $17 for the item, but the item I received was wrong, and was only $7.15 on their menu. I called the restaurant and left as message for the manager to call me but I was never called back, so I will not be giving my business to this restaurant again.
Our go-to sushi place for dining in and take out in Ladner. The food is great. Take out can be tricky, the person who answers the phone is often very quick to hang up without your whole order, never lets you know the price and is very abrupt and rude. On more than one occasion we’ve not picked up the right food. It’s the restaurant’s one downfall.
Maguro is a must for sushi! When in ladner or on your way to or from the ferry. Very friendly professional staff, nice ambience and great sushi. Here are some of my "must eats" i regularly order.volcano roll, spicy tuna, double tuna, tako nigiri, tako sashimi, tako sunomono, salmon oishi,Allen roll, agedashi tofu, ebi sunomono, green ruby roll and woonia roll. Gochisousama
I keep coming back to this dish of salad greens with tempura salmon.Tasty and reasonably priced.
An ok experience! Was skeptical about ordering from here looking at the prices, but was satisfied with the quantity. The beef teriyaki box was neatly packed. The taste wasn’t the best compared to other sushi places in Ladner. The rolls had too much rice. Miso soup lacked flavour to it. The spicy salmon roll was the best tasting out of all I’ve tried.
Best lunch ever food was fresh customer service was excellentAnd covid safe environment
