Let`s start with positives. The location is great, easy access and it wasn`t overly busy for a Saturday afternoon happy hour. For those who like sports, there are a ton of TVs showing a variety of different sports for all tastes. After this, there isn`t much positive to say. Inside is dated. Who uses carpet still and in a restaurant? Gross. Our waitress was terrible: Threw the dishes and drinks on the table (literally). Came across as uncaring and unfriendly and too much reaching over the food and across the table...seriously (there were 2 of us at a table for 4.) The fish and chips I had were greasy. My wife order the chicken tenders which were dry inside, little meat to begin with and way to much coating. No amount of their 'special' mustard based dipping sauce could save it. Not sure if it was just a bad day there as I had always heard good things about this place, but it eaves a poor taste in the mouth when you come in from another city to see what a place is like. After this initial experience, you would be hard pressed to have me come back again.
Friday family gathering first time visit, glad to have the request to show my vaccine info shows me they care about their patrons. The food menu was extensive for a pub & the prime rib was mouth watering & not skimpy. The salmon & prawns & shrimp salad was one of the best & large & priced within range. Will definitely go back sooner than later.
It was ok.Service was great!Haven’t been in ages. Wings are cheap for a reason I think. Standard Caesar, standard Caesar salad. Buttermilk chicken sandwich hit the spot. Keno!
First time here and we impressed. Potato skins were ok. But the wings and nachos were definitely on. Wide range of flavors for wings. Hot was not that hot which is good for a weakling like me. Got beef with the nachos and they did not skimp. Great selection of beers too. Will definitely be coming back for more
After going here for the first time, I don’t think I would come back. First when we came in, the host did not know where the available table was and we circled the whole store 2 times until she pointed to a table and asked if that was good. After sitting down we ordered our drinks, and then we were trying to order our food. Our server left so fast that we were not able to tell her what we wanted. This happened 2 times. We were waiting to order food for 20 mins and the waitress never checked on us… we had to ask the bartender to put in a food order for us. When we got our food we were not given side plates or napkins or utensils.
My absolute favorite pub in the whole lower mainland. Great sitting with lots of TV screens. Covid protocols in place. They have fantastic food & drink menu. Food is always fresh & service is just exceptional. I have never been disappointed. Extremely budget friendly too. Highly recommend. Do check them out.
I felt like there was something special about this spot, just had the perfect vibe, and learned from the excellent bartender it was opened in 1910, so must come from that history. Great beer selection and a diverse pub menu at an excellent price point, service and ambiance top notch, cant wait to check out the patio in the summer.tl:dr old bar is awesome
What you want and expect from a neighborhood pub. I ordered the lemon pepper chicken wings and deep fried pickles, which were both quite good. The Old Fashioned I drank wasn't bad, but I have had better.
The bar was very hospitable to us showing up later in the night with a group of 10. We ordered plenty of beer and made sure to tip well. They were happy and we definitely were happy as well
My wife and I love coming here for their wings night but all of their food is fantastic! I also recommend coming for their fresh pasta! Every server we have had has been great with a couple excellent servers! It has a nice homey feel, and kind of reminds me of my time growing up in alberta. Also prices are very reasonable!
