I only ordered salmon nigiri for my children. It was cheaper than other places, and the amount was satisfactory. There is no wasabi in the sushi and it is supposed to be dipped separately. I liked the way it was because I ordered food for my children. The quality of the food is more cost effective than high.
The place seems very understaffed. It took almost 20 minutes for someone to look in our direction after we got seated. The food was decent, but the pricing seems pretty high. Google says it’s one dollar sign but I’d consider it a two
We were greeted heartily by the team upon entry and that was the beginning of a great dining experience. Our order was the dinner for 2. This came with steaming bowls of miso soup, a plate of 2 kinds hand rolled maki, tempura platter, a fresh salad and a nigiri dish.Freshness was in every bite. Team members very attentive and knowledgeable.They helped us figure our some of the less familiar nigiri cuts like the clam.Very good value for money (about $40 for 2)We will be back to try their ala carte menuThis is a local biz worth supportingGreat Job Sushi California Coquitlam!! Loved everything both sushi and cooked items. Very good katsu, tempura, sushi, sashimi. Everything we ordered was perfect
It’s not Sushi ? California’s? best location. Parking limited and they don’t do sockeye wild salmon ? rolls were ok, as they fall apart easily. But prices are very fair and service is decent. Still my favorite location is downtown on Thurlow. ?
Worse sushi in all bc. They fill all rolls with too much crab meat. Have you ever seen a dragon roll that doesnt have eal on top of it? (Check second pic). 6 out of ten pieces of the dragon had no eal on top of them. Who does that? And i ordered a smoked salmon cream cheese roll that had almost no cream cheese and 95% crab lol (check picture 1)
I took my mother out for sushi. She is 75, fully vaccinated with a booster, fully masked, and with an empty bench seat inside the front of the restaurant, they made her wait outside in the cold due to their “restaurant Covid policy” which lacks common sense. They had an empty bench inside the front of the restaurant, which is warm” yet the forced a senior outside in the cold due to their “ restaurant policy”, yet all tables were full of unmasked patrons sitting close to each other. When asked to speak to a manager, there was none. They suggested we go start our car, burn gas and enrich our environment with carbon monoxide and wait in it. Absolutely no common sense. I will not come back to this restaurant, I will not recommend this restaurant. The food is average but the way the way they treat senior citizens is absolutely appalling!
We were there last Saturday evening January 22, 2022. The Fried Oyster that they served us looked good from the outside, but when it was sliced open it really SMELL BAD (Rotten). We politely and discreetly told the lady server that we are returning it and cancell that order.
Just had an amazing experience dining in at this lovely local sushi joint. Had a short wait at the door because it's BUSY, and once I got in the service was extremely fast and friendly. The food came up within 5 minutes of ordering, it was delicious, and the sashimi portion was generous for the price. I'll be back!
This reviews is for Down Town location Dunsmuir / Melvile St , only few mins walk from Burrard Station , very mordant airy , spacious high ceiling , they been in business since Nov 2019 , meeting with some friends and partner for early Chinese Year business lunch , little disappointing to say they do not take reservation for lunch ! ( for 6 of us ) but lucky it is after lunch hour rush , few big tablets open , but happy to say their Covid Guidelines perfectly done ! every one fell very comfortable about it , funny every time we dine out , every one want me to order ??? menu lot to choose from , the Chopped Scallop Cone (spicy and not spicy ) delicious , and both Deluxe assorted Sushi and Sashimi very fresh and nicely cut , perfect thickest , Chicken Karaage and Prawn Tempura not oily at all , food arrived in a timely manner , over all good quality , friendly staff , price very reasonable for down town , bathroom very cool ! every one very satisfied and full , great place for lunch !
