They advertised Free Delivery to the Ramada Hotel next door to them for a purchase over $40.00.We were charged the $7.95 room service fee. This is false advertising.Food was plentiful and good. Delivery guy way very nice.
Probably the best Chinese food I’ve had in many years! The ginger beef was perfect tasting. It had the right crunch and delicious sweet/spicy mix of flavour. The sweet and sour boneless pork was outstandingly delicious too. I highly recommend trying SunStar as soon as you can. I know where I’m always going to order from now on.
Very delicious food and good quality. Staff were very efficient and nice
The best Chinese food I’ve eaten in 5 years! Flavours were really tasty it didn’t all taste the same, plus lots of different veggies, a wonderful meal!
stop right there and do not be fooled by the appearance. this place may deceive the eye but trust me on this, the food was super. the service was excellent and very quick. it’s a hidden gem!!! the chow mein was my personal favourite!!! must go!!
Edit: Called them but nothing happened. Was told Owner/Manager is never there so I couldn't get anything sorted out as per the response below. Will be very honest here - it's definitely more American Chinese food which is fine of course, but heads-up to people who want more authentic Chinese food.Regardless of style, the ginger beef we got was stale and the kung Pao chicken was watery (see photo) and actually had almost no flavour, which is definitely not right, whether Chinese or American Chinese. The chicken pieces were also way too big for "Ji ding."Food was alright before so not sure what happened today. Wouldn't usually give 1 star to a restaurant which I had an okay experience before, but this kung Pao chicken actually tastes so bland it seems like something a 12 year old would make better, hence the 1 star.
This is our first time ordering from Sun Star Restaurant. We did a take out order. We ordered from the menu: chicken fried rice ($13.95), chicken chow mein ($13.95) and Stir fried Beef with Pan Fried Rice Noodle with Soy Sauce ($13.95). When we got there to pick up our food, we were told that for the chicken fried rice we would be charged an extra $3! They didn't inform us when we ordered and nowhere in their menu shows chicken fried rice has an additional $3 cost. Anyone heard of this? The stir fried beef with pan fried rice noodles was good and not oily. The chow mein was disappointingly dry and had a bland taste. Lastly the chicken fried rice was also bland, the chicken pieces were small and the mushrooms they threw in were much larger than the chicken. Wouldn't order from this place again.
A waitress keeps standing by and chatting and asking private questions to us when we only first come to this place. Don't feel comfortable to chat too much with strangers, and not even able to try the food alone for one minute. So just quickly finished the meal and rushed away, and never wanna go there again.
Stop reading and eat here. Seriously! It’s amazing value and quality, every time, all the time. It is my go-to takeout food around here, they make their food so tasty. Their selection is vast, if you’re not familiar ask and get help. But I can assure you no food will make you disappoint. Their Blackpepper Udon Stir Fry Beef is my favourite, so umami!Skip the skipthedishes and call them to order, they do their own delivery, better yet, go pick up. MUCH cheaper than paying the middle-man. If you pay cash, they even give you a discount.I can’t recommend them enough. I am not Chinese but I believe their food is quite authentic.
I think the food is improving there. I had it the other day and it was excellent. Veggies were fresh and had a great flavor. I had the dinner for 1 and found it to be very good.
