I've been around lower mainland hongkong style restaurants looking for exceptional stir frying skilled cookery. This is only one of two places I found that I would eat stirfry beef rice noodle at. For those who doesn't know, this dish is one of the hardest to do well and authentic. Non hongkonger might not appreciate it but the ones know what they are looking for will know. This is now the only hongkong style restaurant I go to in the area. No one is even close. PS. Don't expect perfect service like any other Chinese restaurant.
Small Hong Kong style eatery that caters mainly to Canto/HKers' nostaligia for "home cooked" style dishes. Has a selection of dishes for vegetarians too! Was disappointed with the claypot rice (preserved veg and pork)... it was really bland.
To start off, the food tasted absolutely bland and unseasoned.Come to surprise that the service is even worse than the food, the lady kept glaring at our table and made the experience very uncomfortable/awkward.Even when we tried to smile at her after being glared at, she got angry and looked away :|The chicken meal smelled and tested as if it was reheated in the microwave and the milk tea drinks we ordered tasted bitter. You’re better off with ordering food from the mall food court or your local seven11…
First time here. Will be my last. Came in for wonton soup with noodles (2 orders) and fish balls on the side. Bill came to roughly $29 after tax.1) fishballs tasted decent, but nothing you couldn't get from T&T to do yourself for 1/3 the price2) Their version of "wonton" is a DUMPLING. You get about 4.. maybe 5 DUMPLINGS, some cabbage leaves and noodles. If a Chinese restaurant/HK cafe cannot even get wontons right, I would hate to see them try the rest.Do yourself and your savings a favor and just avoid this place
The food is honestly okay. It is hard to find legit Chinese food in this area. But just a heads up, if your child is young or loud, it may not be good place to go. The lady just glared at my daughter with a shh when she was loud. I am not saying my daughter is right, but she should at least come and talk to me first before scaring my daughter with a stare and made her cry.I guess we are not coming back for a while despite the fact that their food is quite good. I guess it is a good place for students, singles, or elders but definitely not families with kids. Just thought to let everyone know...
Real Hk-style Cafe. Their free range chicken on rice is delicious and portion is decent. Their stir-fried noodles are good too. Price is very reasonable. Definitely going back. Forgot to take photos unfortunately as I devoured everything.
Ordered take out of popcorn chicken, beef ho fun and a veggie. Beef ho fun and popcorn chicken where great. The veggies is a little overcooked. But overall good. The lady who served us where nice and helpful. Will return there when we are in that area again
A good cozy restaurant in Coquitlam city center with a lot of variety of Chinese food with Hong Kong and Taiwanese favor. The owner lady is very friendly. We enjoy all the food recommended by her during the last visit.
I found the lady has lack of customer service. She is being deceitful while it comes out with the price. While we first came in she mentioned that the price increased $1.00 for all of the menu on the list. She even tried to charge more than the increased price that she mentioned beforehand at the time we would like to pay. I found out and she corrected. The Hainanese Chicken Rice : the chicken has bone in and it didn't come with the sauce and soup. (You'll get a complimentary soup but if you chose a drink they will charge an extra buck for hot drink and a couple bucks for cold drinks). You'll not get tea or water. I gave 3stars just because the food is decent but the lack of service and the greedy from the lady is 1star worthy.
The staff members are very friendly. They also serve authentic Hong Kong cuisine!
