Looked better than it tasted. Texture was good, but the flavour and proportion of meat to batter could be improved. The chow mein noodles were all dente but lacked flavour. The mango chicken had good texture (golden and pillowy soft), but there was so little chicken that all I could taste was deep-fried batter. Any chicken I did get was tough and dark. The sticky sauce was very underwhelming, and I needed more. The mixed veggies were really just broccoli, which had a nice crunch, but also bland.
My husband and I have been coming for years, but the food has changed recently. Is it under new ownership? The bourbon chicken has changed and it is no good. We couldn't even eat it. I hope it goes back to the old menu, otherwise we will not be going back!
I believe I had been coming to the Coquitlam center location since it opened, maybe around 2005-2007 or earlier. It has been my goto major craving since the first time I had ever tasted the chicken with sauce on rice, or Caesar with bourbon chicken . . . As all the other locations changed their recipe for the bourbon, Coquitlam center had remained constant, it's only now that they've changed it and it is not the same. So long old friend, all good things must come to an end.At least now my friend in Kelowna will no longer request a tub of the chicken every time I go up there.
Delicious food!. Service was excellent . Recommend others to try their bourbon chicken and blacken chicken. I had combo 3 . Portion was perfect . Worth food to try.
Been a customer for years but not anymore .At first glance I thought great new items, but with Every bite of chicken i was pulling out bone or cartilage ...GROSS..! Also felt under cooked .The so called jambalaya rice i loved so much tastes like Chinese fried rice disguised as jambalaya..The blacken fish used to be my favorite item is now probably the worst ...very sad....so long bourbon street grill we had some good together ill never forget that fish .
My wife has been dining or ordering take out from Bourbon Street Grill for many years. What a disappointment as the food that she ordered two weeks ago was very poor quality as chicken was very grisly and veggies too. The new owners have decided to change a great menu to Chinese dishes which is not what we were wanting to have. Sorry but you have lost another customer.
I've been going here for about 3 years, more often than I'd like to admit ?Today my husband and I went there.I usually get rice, mixed veggies, blackened fish and one other meat. We questioned if that was blackened fish and she said yes, it's different. I chose honey mustard chicken for my second meat and gave the fish a try. When we say done my husband said "the rice is different" as u was pulling grisol out of my mouth from the chicken. The veggies were not the same. The fish was horrible, battered and dry. We decided the rice tasted like Chinese fried rice. After the 3rd piece of unedible chicken. I took it back. I asked why everything is different, she said new owners. I tried handing the food back and she said to throw it away my self. Just then the new owner walked out and said take the food and refund her. I told him our thoughts about the food and left with my refund.Afterthought... The girl was right to tell me to throw it away ( cross contamination ) I can't help to think what the manager did with the food I returned ?
Staff would not allow me to just have steamed rice instead of vegetable. I didn’t want vegetable I just wanted carbs but she insisted I wasn’t allowed to have cheaper steamed rice instead. Chicken was very grisley they no longer cut the ligaments out. Staff does not know people like bourbon sauce poured on their noodles and stuff. Maybe they also got rid of the petite combo? My partner asked for one and didn’t get it. Very strange. Bourbon St Grill is supposed to be Louisianna style, not Chinese unless they plan to change franchise and just haven’t taken down their sign yet. Too bad.
Very disappointing. Regular customer. Menu changed and quality has changed. Chicken had bone and gristle in it. Flavour has changed. Pop was warm. Xtra bourbon sauce was different as well. New owners?? You lost a customer
Great food I ever had!! And very good customer service. They have Different Varieties of chicken butI love there bourbon chicken :)
