Chicken skewers and the noodle dish were my favorite. However I did not get a chance to eat their special lamb skewers. I would like to try that next time.
Excellent food, particularly when you eat in. Takeout is a bit hit or miss sometimes though. Great value on skewers, and the noodles are top notch. Other dishes are a bit on the expensive side though. Still, unless you want to go to Happy Tree in Vancouver or to Richmond, this is your best choice in this region of the lower mainland.
Read different reviews and decided to give it a try. Staff was friendly and efficient, food was in good portions and very delicious. Many varieties of both spicy and non spicy items. Venue was nice and spacious. Highly recommend!
I really liked the Spicy aubergine. It is a whole small thin one that is BBQ'd for you then flayed and seasoned with green onions, garlic, salt, some chillies and other seasoning that I couldn't pick out specifically and although I was full from the lamb and beef skewers I had to finish it. the green pepper skewer were okay. We got the garlic skewer hoping that it would be like roast garlic. It wasn't but the bbq garlic cloves were good when eaten with the chunks of lamb and beef. Speaking of the lamb and beef skewers. They are not marked as spicy but there is a bit of chilli powder sprinkled on them. So if you cannot handle any heat, like my daughter, ask for it without spice when you order. They were very good and added a second set of beef skewers, this time non-spicy, to our order as soon as I mentioned my daughter couldn't take spice. They are very seasoned and she still felt a little overwhelmed but it was nothing that a can of coconut juice could not rectify.
The skewers were ok i guess. At 15$ for 5 skewers with 5 pieces of beef on each makes it 1$/thumbnail size of beef. It was tough and not at all tender. I would suggest 15$ worth of skewers at a greek restaurant would be considerably more satisfying. What saved the day was the spicy cauliflower dish. Very nice would order again. For the money there are way to many other Chinese shops delivering much better value. Banshan drops out of my top ten listlist
Food was ok but they definitely need more staffs. Waited over 30min to get our first dish. At a super busy hour they only had 2 front workers. Are you serious?
Great spot for getting your chinese bbq fix.I think they need a lunch specific menu to help get more customers.
Would've been better if not all skewers had the same seasoning. Very interesting food choices though.
Had a tremendously great time at this local restaurant. From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted warmly by the staff and provided great service to the moment you walk out. The service was a bit slow, but overall our server was extremely polite and helpful and tended to all our needs. The food was delightful, delicious, and colorful. We ate with our eyes first every time a new dish arrived. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Try all their main skewers including chicken hearts. Try some cold dishes and hot staples such as the fish boat with the chillies. And their noodles in garlic oil were to die for. Also the sweet eggplant dish was very unique.
I want to be the only one who knows this restaurant. For me, here is better than Happy tree. Especially, beef skewers were amazing
