While being new to Chilliwack. We have tried 3 different Chinese food places. And as we are still looking for a place that meets our expectations. Canton Gardens was by far the worst of the worst. And while encumbering a 150 dollar food bill, I must say that we are rather disappionted. Our advise, keep looking.
I’ve had the worst Chinese food at that place. Their so-called fried rice is NOT fried, it looks more like leftover. The meat looked like it was not fried at all. Just passed through some heat or something. On top of all that, we were didn’t get chopsticks, but forks and spoons, while our neighbours did. The service was of poor quality. The restaurant was not busy, however I had to stand up and ask for boxes to pack the food (I never waste food as much as possible, even if it’s bad), as no one looked after us once we were given our plates.
Reasonably priced food, moderate quality. Slow service and quite a few items on the drink menu not available.
*WARNING* my Wife Ordered combo dinner for 4, It was $84 Dollars upon pickup despite menu inside restaurant says $56.95!! Make sure you compare the prices in the "Takeout Brochure" as they have removed prices from the website.. i definitely feel scammedThe food itself was mediocre, quite bland and way too overpriced for the quality of the food.
$70 spent on 3 dishes& a burger.Needless to say the beef chowmien was greasy gross. The beef fried rice was soggy gross as well as the mushroom&pork( what pork?) fried rice as well gross. My grandson liked his burger after I scraped off the yukky lettuce, tomato& onion.$15.50 for a burger that was burnt all around the outside of the burger. How do you get away with this.I can not eat it.It all tastes utterly horrible.Learned a valuable lesson.I would not even give this crap to a homeless person.Excuse me while I go puke.Shame on you Canton Garden ??
Absolutely and positively the worst Chinese food we've had. The spring rolls were sopping in oil to the point you could hardly remove them from the bag. The chicken chow mein was mushy and tasteless and the almond chicken batter was like glue. They better find some new cooks in there. The dogs got the food and we ended up with a grilled cheese sandwich..and we're out $ 50.
The service was fine and friendly and quick. The food was honestly the worst I have ever had at a chinese restaurant. The sweet and sour pork was odd tasting, not sweet and sour at all. It seemed dried out. The chow mein had triangle sliced pieces of chicken in it.Like it was processed chicken. Again a weird odd taste, made me worried it was old. The vegetables were very bland. I won't ever go there again.
My family and I went to Canton Gardens last night for dinner we ordered dinner for 6+ wonton soup as well as the egg foo yong and drinks When the dinner arrived the wonton soup was warm and the kids enjoyed that almost everything else that we received was cold except for the deep fried prawns they did remake us the sweet-and-sour pork the rest of our food was not enjoyable and that was our last trip to Canton Gardens
11 of us went to dinner at Canton Gardens last night. The service was excellent and the food was all so good. Will go there again or even order take out. Good job to the staff and the cooks. Glad we choose to try it after so many years.
We hoped for a delicious traditional Chinese supper. Instead, unfortunately our family and friends found the food quite yucky, pre frozen, and nowhere near how good Chinese food should be cooked or presented. Didn't even offer chop sticks! And super expensive. Won't be back.
