Nice ambianceFriendly and efficient staff that check on you frequentlyFood tasted good, but a bit skimpy with the ramen. I ordered the seasonal spicy obsession which came with 2 pieces of cha shu. They were mostly fat. Broth was tasty. The spice tasted like the sechuan chilli peppers, of which I am not a big fan of. Hubby ordered the spicy chicken. Came with 2 pieces of chicken. Hubby thought the same of his dish. But with little meat in both and no egg there’s much better places you can go for the same price. We had the tacos which came with two piecesThe crispy chicken was good
Went to Zubu to try the Bite of Burnaby event. Similar to Vancouver dine out where there is a 3 course or 4 course meal for $15 or $30. My hubby ordered the 4 course meal for $30 and since Takoyaki is not available (appetizer), i decided to just choose the special lunch menu for $20 which is a 3 course meal. The only difference is the 4 course has appetizer to which my husband ordered karage/chicken, you get 5 pcs. He ordered curry fries for starter and it did taste like curry, nothing special. His entree is (tonkotsu kuro) which we both really liked. And you have the option to choose fatty or lean chasu. For his dessert, we ordered double fromage chocolate which is also good!
Extra hot sure is extra hot. The first time i went here for takeout it wasn’t great but its really redeemed itself! The broth was good and not too salty. Highly recommend just going for extra hot if youre going to choose hot the chili sauce is really good
The ramen just not that good……The skills of peeling egg could be better, unacceptable in a traditional Japan ramen restaurant.
My friend and I went here and both got sick. The Ramen was good and I think it was the spicy tuna tacos made us ill because it had raw tuna in them. Women's washroom had no toilet paper, means staff doesn't care maintenance and cleaning. I am giving 2 stars because our server was very pleasant.
Our first time eating here and dinner was good. The ramen broth was a bit too salty, but good overall. The service was very good. Glad we were able to eat Nana's desserts. The brussel sprouts in batter wasn't good. Mostly tasteless batter. It should be taken off the menu.
Great restaurant! We were the first to get in there today and the staff were very helpful and quick. The food was equally pleasant and we definitely over indulged.
Very quick service and friendly staff. Restaurant follows Covid guidelines very wellWeird that people use the back door as a normal exit though. Usually restaurants have back door exclusively for fire emergencies. Maybe I am overthinking itFood was good
There was a 30 minute wait to be seated, but the servers were really nice. The food was delicious, however, I found the ramen a little too oily for me. The teppan aburi chashu was dry as well. Would still visit again as I loved their fries and maybe try another ramen ..!
I had another review for this location back when it was jinya ramen so I had to delete that and make a new review. I personally think Jinya was a better ramen place thi swas good and the lunch menu seems like an okay deal but I miss jinya as my preference is fusion ramen and this is more like traditional. I'm giving 3 stars as the lunch set was kinda of underwhelming we tried the Curry cheese fries and the shoyu butter peppers for the starters and honestly if the fries came with the shoyu butter sauce instead of ketchup THAT would be an awesome starter as the fries were a little too crispy and the cheese element was powder as well as the Curry but since we had the shoyu butter sauce from the peppers we drizzled that on the fries and it was really yummy then. The main I got was the tonkatsu ramen which is pretty standard for a ramen flavor and it was nice rich and creamy and the portion was a bit smaller than a lot of other ramen places I've been but for me that was better. The dessert is a mochi icecream ball I got the matcha and it was a little bitter I like things less sweet and I like matcha but this was not really for me. Overall I don't think the lunch special is worth it the appetizers it comes with and the dessert is not as good as other things on the menu from the looks of it. Oh and I had the peach soda to drink which was nice to have a more unique soda/juice option. Sorry I didn't get pictures of the appetizers XD
