I'm surprised to find a decent sushi place in Burnaby. The atmosphere and interior design was very dainty. I love the murals and the mix of traditional and contemporary vibe.The food was actually of good quality! The portions were small, and the prices were high, but the quality was legit. They even had Wagyu and foeis gras LOL.The place was packed when we came, and was packed when we left. The staff were very polite.
Wow. What a Japanese resto this one is. From the quality of food to the selection they offer (fried baby octopus), this one is a must visit. Great service, good portions and awesome taste. Definitely worth the price and will be coming back here sometime. Wagyu nigiri with fried quail eggs on top? Yes please. This resto definitely punches above its weight class.
Awesome place for a quick lunch. I don't especially like to eat tuna due to the after taste it usually leaves behind but the tuna gomae has changed my mind entirely. The rolls are tasty and servers are attentive on your tea levels which is usually what makes me dock a star (soy sauce is salty folks). If you stop by get the tuna gomae and chef's roll.
Quality take out sushi. Fish was fresh and clean tasting. No complaints. Great take out sushi. Everything tasted as expected. Nothing stood out but everything was done well.
First time trying the restaurant. Clean restaurant with nice ambience and attentive staff. Very extensive menu at a reasonable price. Everything we tried was fresh and well prepared. Will definitely come back.
Love this restaurant!I had a my friend’s birthday dinner yesterday.Food came out fast and was so FRESH! Servers also very friendly that make sure we re all satisfied.Been a trouble finding good sushi in this neighborhoods but super happy Takara came recommended.I would recommend planning ahead and making reservations as it did seem like it booked up fairly quickly.
They’re very busy on weekends and don’t take reservations. So make sure you go a bit early otherwise wait time can be long. Food were good and fresh, service is bare minimum. Might be a good idea to hire another server.
Overall great experience. Good service, decent and fresh food. We were fortunate enough to get a table right away on Tuesday for dinner. The restaurant got filled very quickly around 6 pm. Ordered delux sashimi, sushi combo, caterpillar roll, ika karage and California roll and oyster motoyaki. Ingredients were fresh (except shiso leaves used on Ika sashimi) and rolls were well balanced with flavours, packed with fillings. Ika karage was crispy and flavourful. Deluxe sashimi was good, but for the price, could use a bit more variety and finesse. Overall, enjoyed the food.
