I loved their chicken kaarage rolls, probably the best I've had, I always order them! Their aburis and gyoza are delicious as well!
Everything we order tasted clean. The tempura was so hot and fresh when it arrived at our table, we could barley even bite into it, that’s how fresh it was served. I liked the option of their dark rice, it was a nice change from the usual. The avocado and cucumber rolls were quite large, I wasn’t expecting them to be that big. Actually all the rolls were quite big. I would say the Nigiri was average size though. We did not find the spicy tofu or Volcano Roll too hot. Over all very tasty place.
This is a hidden gem.It is located in a hard to reach place with only street parking.Prices are very reasonable, ingredients are fresh and portions are spot on.Service is good too.Do not miss this place, give them a try.
Try this place out for the first time today. It's located right beside the amarosa pasta the house, taking over what used to be a Greek restaurant.Does have free street parking on Edmonds, although limited. I believe most of them are 1 hour parking. You could also try parking in the residential areas and walking the block. We had their assorted Aburi (flame seared) platter and was very satisfied with all the sushi. The fish was fresh and the rice was well made and seasoned. The sauce that went with each aburi complemented the fish.We ordered two tuna Toro nigiri as well.As it was still lunch time, we got a salmon teriyaki Bento to go. I forgot to take a picture of it. The salmon looked small however they were quality cuts and prepared to perfection.I like how everything was to my palate and wasn't too salty or greasy or oily.Tempura sauce has a gingery flavour to it that I enjoyed.
Everything was delicious. The meals were prepared very quickly. Good value for money. Strongly recommend.
They been in business since the 2017 , decor very airy , bright and clean , parking at the back but a lot of street parking , not busy at all , menu is good size and lot of choices , little pricy , with the quality you get , Takoyaki (deep fried octopus ball ) is delicious but where is the octopus , I truly think they use the very end of octopus SECTION CUPS ! the Chicken Karage little over deep fried , looks they need to change new oil , also my Assorted Sashimi is fresh but I had lot better quality in another restaurants , over all , not thing out standing , pretty average staff very friendly , I notice they have a lot of take out and delivery , and they do not serve ' Dinner Bento Box ' at night , over all I did enjoyed the dinner with my boys . and they do not take reservation , for sure I am not going to wait half hours or more for the tablet . for sure I would not coming back soon .
I just found my fav sushi place to go! Sushi modo has a great amount of selections on their menu and their sashimi is very fresh. They have so many creative names for the rolls and so far whatever we ordered are all surprisingly good. If you are an aburi lover, I can assure you this is one of the best places to go for. Sushi modo will be my frequent visit restaurant in the future for certain.
We passed by there many times but never went in because I thought a Japanese restaurant's name without Japanese character might not be authentic. So I was wrong, and pleasantly surprised two days ago when we decided to take a chance. The menu looked quite standard at first glance but then I noticed the items under Aburi Sushi (torched surface sushi) and Oshi Sushi (pressed down sushi) were quite interesting - had unique combinations!Very tasty hotate-tobiko sushi and shrimp-tobiko sushi. A nice surprise was takoyaki, very soft inside and has that umami attached to the filling. Hubby was happy with his tonkatsu don too. The only thing they could do a bit better was kama yaki, though the fish cheek was very fresh, they could have used an extra pinch of salt. The staffs were friendly, even allowed us to move to a table further away from a group of very loud patrons. The price point is quite reasonable given the creativity, tastiness, and freshness that the chef put in.Don't be fooled if you feel that a Japanese restaurant must have Japanese chef - we have many talented chefs who can come from different heritage and they still serve authentic and delicious Japanese food. In this case, the staffs and some of the chef's behind the counters were Korean heritage. They were awesome.
Everything was very tasty and fresh. Great presentation as well. We really enjoyed the tempura which was perfectly cooked and the aburi popping roll was also fantastic. The servers were so kind and it was overall a great dining experience. We unfortunately didn’t see the specials board until after our meal on our walk out because our table wasn’t situated in front of it but will definitely come out to try it again. For two rolls, tempura and assorted sashimi, we paid about $70 tax and tip in.
Ok portion sizes, taste is ok. Nothing really to write home about. Lots of other sushi restaurants to go to with better quality and value. Service was a bit slow waiting for take out as I stood there waiting for someone to acknowledge me for 5 minutes when the restaurant wasn't busy. They also use Styrofoam containers still, so not a fan of that. The good part is that it is fresh and packed well.
