Brunch on the weekend. It’s busy with a good flow of people. Amazing atmosphere , even with lots of people the place still feels really spacious. While waiting for our food It was really amazing to watch everyone faces looks so happy holding on to their dessert heading back to their seats.Food was amazing! Will be back to try different items on the menu.

The Good:- first time coming here so wasn't sure what to expect. It looks like small place from the front, so I was pleasantly surprised to see how big it is when I walked in. Easily could sit a 100+ people as the pics will show. So no problem getting a table for 4 on a Sunday morning brunch time (I arrived at 9am; left around 11am and still plenty of room).- place is clean and at no time did I see dirty dishes and plates left about. That said, I cleaned up after myself when I was done.- food comes quick. You get a buzzer with your order so that you can sit down and not stand around waiting. Ordered two 'platters' for 3 of us.The Bad:- "platters" are smaller than a normal breakfast plate at Denny's or Cora's, which are similarly priced (low $20s).The Ugly:- Coffee is $3 for a regular size cup but is NOT refillable so I had to nurse my one cup of coffee; supplemented by cups of water.

The food surprised my expectations and the menu was quite unique. I enjoyed the bulgogi sandwich on squid ink bread and we also got the chicken platter. The vanilla lavender drink was really good. The natural lighting and all the plants made this a nice place to visit, hangout and take pictures. I wish I could try some of the cakes.

This was the first time we visit this place and we liked it. The entire design was quite modern with very high ceiling. The menu was has a reasonable wide selection of items that could meet the expectations from all kinds of people whether you are a meat lover, vegan, vegetarian, or on a more restricted diet temporarily. Food came out rather quickly and the service was good too. The inside was kept clean and tidy. The only down side is that they don’t have a lot of parking space compare to the number of tables they have.

Lovely spot with amazing conception! So spacious with high ceiling and skylights where natural lighting, a nice mini-tropical forest in the centre of the space, plenty of seating options including a concrete bench, modern decor, wide food and beverage options.Tried the chicken and waffles. Looks amazing! Chicken was tasty and cut into handy bitesize pieces. Waffles also were delicious. On the other hand, it’s pricey :(The LONG waiting time could upset you though.Looking forward to seeing more locations.

My first time here was very enjoyable. There’s parking in front, at the back or on the street and there are many tables inside, for small and large groups. It’s cafeteria style ordering…very efficient. The decor of live greenery makes this a lovely tranquil setting for a longer visit. We had brunch and loved that there’s enough variety on our plates and enough differences compared to other eateries such as the black squid toast and black/purple potatoes. There is a good selection of baked goods and sweets on display. We picked out a half dozen of croissants and cookies for later before ordering our brunches. The hazelnut matcha cookie was my favourite- loaded with nuts; the almond tulle was too sweet, but had lovely crispiness. The chocolate chip scone was dry and too sweet, but the parmesan cheese squid ink croissant was very nice - soft and fluffy, not crispy; I didn’t taste any parmesan, though.

The cakes are amazing! Pair that with a coffee and it’s a good time.

I visited this cafe many times. Finally I am writing a review about it.The layout remains the same but they have moved the bread and buns in individual packing to the front of the cafe. When customers come in and lineup for food/payment, they can grab the bread and buns right away. The lineup was not too long. It usually depends on when you go. Menus are on their website or they have paper menus at the cashier, so customers can look at them while waiting in line.I ordered the bacon and waffle platter, a regular latte and a matcha latte. All of them were good. They have many varieties in terms of coffee beverage, breakfast, desserts, and etc. Customers must be able to find something to eat or order from their menus.Once the food was ordered, I got a small vibrating machine. It would vibrate when the food was ready for pickup. I could go find a table first. The cafe has changed to use wooden cutlery instead of plastic. It’s better and more environmental friend. However, it was hard to use the wooden fork to pick up food from the plate. I must use a spoon or knife to help at the same time. It was funny.A sign at the cafe would tell customers that if we ordered food, we could stay for two hours. If we ordered a beverage only, we could only stay for an hour. That makes sense, so customers can’t just sit at a table for hours especially ones who bring laptops or work to the cafe.Would I recommend this cafe to others? Yes! It’s such a popular restaurant in Burnaby now. Lots of street parking in the residential area.

An interesting place to come but will not enjoy coz upon ordering food/drinks you encounter unfriendly staff who cannot answer your Qs, and snacks that is not good for the price you pay. I'd rather go to Thierry, Breka, Beaucoup - even so tiny, will enjoy the desserts, Thomas Haas.....you pay but you'll definitely enjoy the high quality products and service with friendly and smiling staff.

We were curious to see what the hype was. I must admit the ambience was cool. You feel like you’re sitting in a nice garden with high ceilings. When you first enter, there is a QR code at the entrance or a printout of the menu. However I like to visually see what there is. To your right is a variety of eye catching ‘to go’ baked goodies such as matcha scone, Koulgn Amani (squid ink roll), & assorted cookies. As the lineup progresses, there’s a glass case showing various cake rolls, cakes, etc. More yummy distractions that will have you drooling. We ordered: * Chicken and waffle – it was small pieces of chicken crispy nuggets in batter. Not too greasy and tender chicken pieces. You get 4 pieces of black waffle which is made of squid ink. Enough to share for at least 2 people. * Almond croissant – has plenty of almonds and which was moist and tasty * Matcha Scone – dry They offer brunch, lunch, & dinner items consisting of waffles, platters, sandwiches, & pasta, suitable for vegans/vegetarians/carnivores. There’s plenty of items made with black squid ink, maybe a take from Squid Games. There’s a good selection of usual beverages plus others such as Bingsoo (a small size for $16), lemonade, and smoothies. They have a time limit for seating which needs to be posted near the front door. They could also save time by having someone check your vaccine card at the front versus the cashier. A bit cumbersome to ask for it after you paid especially if you have other people in your party. After a couple of us sat down, we had to show the cashier our vax cards. There’s complimentary parking out front for 8 cars but could be a challenge with patrons standing outside waiting to go in. Also a few spots in the back. Open everyday from either 9 am (on weekends) or 8 am (on week days) to 10 pm. If you’re tired of the same old, same old, try La Foret.
