I've finally decided to try Kamamarui - one of the few sought-after ramen places in Vancouver.I visited the restaurant around 3pm, and about half of the tables was empty. Tables were clean, sanitized and the server was kind and prompt.I decided to get a Tonkotsu with rich broth and grilled chashu. I ordered 2 bombs (Onigiri rice balls pretty much) as a combo. The food came out in a few minutes and was told to try their ramen sauce and spicy sauce/chilli sauce to my likings. This restaurant also offers free garlic which goes well with rich broth.Kamamarui here offers a great, thick and rich broth which I really like. This place is really legit if you like such broth. My wife doesn't like rich broth as she prefers the clean/light and non-greasy broth. I'll try the normal broth next time to see if I can bring her next time.Although the two little onigiris I've ordered tasted okay, I wouldn't order them on my next visit as the portion was pretty small. I'll probably go for extra noodle or a bowl of rice instead.Overall, it was a pleasant experience and will definitely come back again to try their miso along with other variations.
First time trying out this ramen place. Ramen comparable to other places that we’ve been to. We have a family member who has a nut allergy and this is one of the ramen places where there menu broth does not have any nut ingredients. That is a deciding factor for us and will definitely come back. Friendly staff as well!
Great little ramen place tucked away. The bomb was great, a must get as an appetizer. Ordered the vegetable ramen and the chashu ramen. The vegetable was okay, broth was not rich enough. The pork based broth was great and tasted better than most in the city. Would recommend to anyone.
Found this place when i was walking back from Metrotown, and i do not regret it. Its a ramen restaurant with of course some appetizers and drinks, but the main reason you go here is for ramen. They have a lot of options for the ramen, and if you want you can add extra of whatever you would like. The portion is HUGE and very filling and it tastes delicious. The only con is that there is little soup and a load of noodles, other than that, this place is easily a 5-star.
There are many ramen restaurants in Metrotown area that come and go, but this is the place that lasts. I've been coming to this place since I moved to this neighborhood 5 years ago. The quality has always been great. My favorite is their veggie noodle, not only yummy, but also great value. In my opinion, this place beats all the other hyped up ramen restaurants!
Decided to try Kamamarui Ramen for dinner. This is a very small restaurant. Max capacity is 16. Simple deco but very inviting.Service was excellent and food was great. Ramen noodles and broth were very tasty. On the table there's 3 saucesthat you can try. Chili Sauce, Ramen Sauce and hot Sauce was the last one I think. It was a thick paste sauce that was very tasty. You must try it and decide for yourself.Price was easy on the pocket books as well. They also had coat hangers shaped as dogs bum on the wall to use. Very unique and great way to utilize space. We'll definitely be back again to try their other Ramen bowls.
Always a great place to grab a bowl of ramen. Every bowl I've had seems to have the same quality and consistency. Friendly staff and service is typically quick, the only thing to complain is the furniture seems to be a bit sticky? I know the staff do clean the tables but it may be due to wear and tear that they may have become like that.
BEST RAMEN SHOP! Extremely affordable and lots of options to customize your ramen bowl. Honestly the broth is the best part about it. Staff here is really friendly and nice. Been here a bunch of times with my friends and can say all their appetizers are delicious. Also they give you reheat instructions when you have to take some of it home with you. It tastes just as good reheated.
The noodles were thin and had a bit of bite. Broth was not too salty, which we preferred. It was the perfect ramen for me. In contrast, mini-don was more salty and sweet, but it was still tasty. The combo with mini-don was filling and satisfying. Double carb combo was a guilty pleasure. I got a bite of karaage, it was thinly battered and juicy.Service was very good. The restaurant was moderately busy, but the staff still provided frequent tea refills.Cleanliness can be improved. Table top was bit sticky. Otherwise I would've given 5 stars.
Service was great! Got there at 4:50 and got seated right away. Leaving had a bit of a line. Order:- The tofu was delicious! Must must get.- I got the vegan ramen (not vegan myself). It’s good for sure but I’m use to ramen being more on the “milky” side so just know this place isn’t like that.- So with that said — GREAT! Just a different kind of ramen then I’m use to but still SO GOOD!
