A hidden gem in Burnaby, Deer Lake area. It was my first time at this restaurant and I will definitely be returning. The view of Deer Lake, soft background music friendly staff make the dining experience a real treat!

I had a lovely dinner here with friends who surprised me as part of a special occasion. The location is great nestled in a quiet area near Burnaby Lake. We were seated in a bright atrium area with lots of natural light and views out onto the green space and lake area.I started things off with a local beer (or two) and had the Grilled Humboldt Squid ($24) as a starter and the Confit Haida Gwaii Halibut ($42) for the main. Both dished were cooked perfectly and tasted great. Dessert was shared with my wife.Service was good and overall it was a very nice surprise and dinner. While the pricing would not be considered as great "value", what you do experience is great food, good service in a nice setting. Definitely a unique option for upscale dining in Burnaby.

We had such a great Saturday morning at Hart House! We sat in the sunroom and the light beaming in the windows was just beautiful. Our food was amazing and so flavourful and the servers were lovely. They have a parking lot and you can finish your meal with a walk around Deer Lake or check out Burnaby village museum (which is free). I can’t wait to come back when it’s patio season and eat outside. Highly recommend!
If you've never been, you should give it a try. It is a very solid experience. Boundaries aren't being pushed, is not exotic, but it's a fabulous venue with great service, and great food. Great for a birthday, anniversary, or just because.
