Nice little restaurant. The nigiri are smaller than some of the places I've been but were all fresh. It's the second or third time I've ordered from here. We are fortunate in Vancouver to have a lot of good sushi places. This is a good place but I haven't had anything yet that stands out for me.
I hate being an after though. When I go to Japaneserestaurants with my family, I order simple things I'm not a fan of raw anything. This time I ordered beef teriyaki, sauce on side. What a disappointment it was. Third rate beef ( that grey stuff) and mung bean sprouts. No other vegetables. Not even the carrots and broccoli. $15.00 Screw that! Everybody had their usual, but they were not impressed. This place is for lazy,y locals only. I'm taking them( my family)back because they don't care. Not my family, the cooks
Average sushi! The flavour is off on the most basic rolls, their ginger is dry and their chicken karage meat is super fatty - the flavor was really good on it however. For a quick run its okay but not my first pickUpdate:Ordered a second time. Miso soup was good, spicy agedashi tofu had what looked and tasted like a little swirl of siracha on it - wouldn't recommend and i got the beef teriyaki. It was disgusting and drowned in waster....literally. absolutely had no flavor and was full of sprouts. They should add an assortment of veggies or maybe a few pieces of brocolli. Never going back here again and do not recommend others comings here.
Best sushi place ever! Great price and tasty ?
I ordered an alaska combo and it was one of my best experience ever. GREAT!
Excellent menu and japanese taste. Loved the food and the staff's attention. My kids and I really enjoyed the food. I recommend everything I had.
10/10 would recommend this place. I usually do delivery, this time went for dine in and loved the food and service.
Omg, this is my 3rd time ordering from Gaya and today is the worst ever. Easily the worst sushi place in lower mainland. This make Costco sushi taste like a winner. Today their rice is mushy, bland no hint of vinegar whatsoever. It's going downhill from there. The sushi chef must have hated his job. To put it into perspective, this is the kind of sushi you eat at an american buffet place. It's that bad. Next time, I'll stick with California Sushi or Sushi Town, they never disappoint.
The food here is absolutely A list. Nicely composed. Got spicy wings and almost felt like it was melting in my mouth. Very easy to eat. Thank you, I have to go back for the sushi
I genuinely can't wrap my head around the five star reviews of this place. I absolutely love sushi and there's so many great sushi places in Burnaby to eat at, this is not one of them. I have had no problems with the service here and I'm really not even that picky about sushi, but this is the nastiest sushi I've ever had. It always looks like it took them 5 seconds to slap together and it never tastes good. I've ordered here so many times out of convenience because of the location but every time I was disappointed and realized it's not worth it anymore. For the love of god, do not order here. Sushi Moto is just 5 min down the road and has awesome sushi, don't waste your money.
