Their desserts are simply delicious and their ice-cream is easily one of the best I've ever tried. Cozy environment. Totally recommended.

I had the opportunity to try FDL cafe, and I was not dissappointed. The service was very friendly and the desserts were amazing. My favourite though, if you like espresso, was the chocolate espresso cake! Did I mention that they have gluten free options as well?! The gluten free options are really good! Good job FDL, I can't wait to come back! ???

Very cozy, coffee is great, and the staff is amazing. I ordered a small latte and due to the busy day they were having during Burnaby Heights Festival, the latte was just a bit late yet they were so polite and apologetic. They gave me a larger size latte and 2 free baked items. They even tried to offer me some ice cream!!

I had the pleasure of meeting FDL. A coffee shop is a paradise of delights.

Stopped in for some Gelato which I was really happy with the flavour options. I like that they promote taste testing unlike most places nowadays which no longer provide thay option. There's some tap water in a large pitcher and Mason jar mugs readily available. I took a look at the baked good which look delicious. I'll come again to try some other menu items.

Ordered 2x double baked chocolate croissant hazelnut and 2x Cinnamon roll with nuts via ubereats. The Cinnamon roll with nuts seem to have much fewer nuts than the pictures I see online. See photo I uploaded.Edit: Thank you owner reply and trying to make things right. I seriously thought the Cinnamon roll with nuts didn't have nut. No need for refund or freebies. The Cinnamon swirl was tasty now we know what it was

TL;DR: there isn't a single thing to critique in this delightful neighbourhood cafe filled to the brim with the most delectable treats. As a foodie, a key element of every day trip I plan is the food. After all, you can only eat so much! So consider the dilemma I faced when I realized Burnaby Heights has a plethora of highly rated bakeries. What made FDL stand out was its outstanding reviews and beautiful treats. Also, who could say no to being able to get pastries and gelato all in one convenient setting?Food:Fruit danish: my favourite by far. Rich and subtly sweet custard paired with a flaky pastry and the freshest fruits (the quality of the fruit really shows how much care they put into their food)...even my mom who dislikes sweets thought this was delicious.Fruit tart: the shell was buttery but I personally found the lemon filling to be a tad too sweet after multiple bites. Still tasty. (edit - I had a bit left over and put it in the fridge. The next day it was somehow even better and not as sweet!)Cinnamon pecan roll: pro tip, microwave this just a little bit and you'll have a deliciously warm pastry. Their cinnamon rolls are made of a croissant-like dough, making them incredibly unique. The pecans also add a nice crunch and flavour. This was my dad's favourite.Gelato: I had pistachio and hazelnut together. The combination was perfect. Creamy and stretchy with lots of bits sprinkled throughout. The hazelnut is slightly sweeter but both were delicious.Service:Walking in, I was warmly greeted by a lady who walked me through the selections in the pastry case. Once I made my choices, she went as far as to go to the back and bring back a gorgeous danish with strawberries on it. She packaged my pastries with extreme care and showed me the filled box afterwards. When picking my gelato, I was helped by a man who helped me choose the perfect flavour pairing. He scooped an incredibly generous amount into my cup.I've been to many bakeries across the Lower Mainland and in Europe but this one stands out as one of the very best. The gelato is comparable to the ones I had in Italy. The prices are also incredibly reasonable for the quality you get.Would I make the drive out from Richmond (despite the extraordinarily high gas prices) just to come here again? Without a question, yes.

My favourite coffee shop in the city. Love FDL. Folks who know how to make coffee, and are super friendly. Delicious eats too. The croissants and other pastries are wonderful. Fresh, and melt in your mouth. The ice cream is also wonderful. Everything made fresh on the premises. Great loyalty points system too. The café is pleasant well decorated and clean. However, the real stars of the place are the staff who are kind, polite and professional. Always smiling. Heitor is extra special. Friendly and a real nice guy who knows how to make a great cup of coffee. 5 stars all the way.

Decided to go to a random cafe and had a truly amazing experience. The chocolate croissant was amazing and so was the atmosphere. Very friendly service too and the price is reasonable. Welcome to study or get some work done here or meet up with some friends. The great view is a plus too.

Delicious food. Yummy cheese pita, so juice. Fresh fruit tart had soft and smooth lemon curd, just like homemade and also fruit was really fresh. Customer service was very good as well. Strongly recommend
