I have been visiting here since they open. I used to like their pork rice a lot. But last visit was so disappointed! When I picked up, no broccoli or other veggies. I was told because they have nothing left over. With no apology and not informed when I was ordering, I was told usually when they have veggies left over for the day, they put some in pork rice. Well, sounds like veggie is not what I was supposed to get for the last few years. But actually they have broccoli on their menu picture. Not a big deal, but to me, it was a cheat. So sad.
Was expecting a really bad experience here but honestly I think people just expect too much from a food court dimsum/chef Tony.Got the combo A and beef tendon. The beef tendon is rly good. Arrived steamy hot too.Everything was fresh ish, at least no stale rice or dimsum. The fried rice wasn’t oily which was good. Was disappointed in the shrimp dumplings tho, the filling is very mushy. Can’t even tell it’s shrimp lol.Overall happy that there’s a food court dimsum option, but won’t get it again if there was no discounts with delivery apps like this time.
I ordered the chicken buns and asked them if the buns I was getting had shrimp in, as I am allergic, and they assured me it did not. However, as I was eating I noticed there was in fact shrimp in them, which caused me to have an allergic reaction. Luckily I am not anaphylactic but just beware if you are! The food was tasty but they need to be more careful :(
I have a couple issues here! First off. The food was supposed to take 10 minutes which is fine, the only problem is that when the food was ready she put it in the warmer and let it sit for another 10 mins instead of flagging us down. We were sitting at a table a few feet away, so we were in waving distance.Secondly, the picture for the combo had some veggies on top. When we finally received the food and realized that there were no such veggies, we were informed that the veggies were for decoration for the picture only!
Not sure which was colder, the food or the service. The lady in charge must have been having a bad day, and chose to show off a big chip on her shoulder. Thumbs down for wasting my time and money
The small framed/skinny Asian lady who spoke good English was extremely defensive and aggressive at the same time. That was the first thing that stuck out right after I asked how long it had been since the items were cooked. Her response was slightly angry/frustrated and simply said, "I don't know." Unfortunately, I've seen her at the stall (all the time) so it was hard to believe that she didn't know when they were cooked. So, I tried again and asked approximately how long they were made. She told me that she couldn't know. Hmm... How would an employee not know? So I asked if she knew if they were fresh. Her final response in defensive and frustrated demeanor was "I don't know - they were made after the last batch was sold - could have been within half an hour." Sounded quite questionable (half an hour is a pretty long stretch), but I'm the kind to give the benefit of the doubt. Alright, so I ordered what's in the picture. To no surprise, they were not fresh. They were not hot (barely warm). The skin on the shrimp dumplings were thicker than the good quality ones. Also, they tasted floury. The skin is supposed to be thin, transparent and a hold a bit of elasticity. The same with pork (siu mai) dumplings - poor quality. After I paid her, she forced herself to change her demeanor and said "thank you and enjoy." You could hear how dismayed she was to say it.Exceptionally bad service and food was below (way below) average for a chain store. There's plenty of great dimsum restaurants in Vancouver. You must be on par with competition at least. Your staff needs customer service training.Don't bother spending your money here.
Had chef Tony in Richmond and this small joint can satisfy your cravings on the go! Of course expected food court quality, but the prices can't be beat. I always get the 6 piece dim sum with choice of rice or noodles. Though I find the rice is always sold out. So better to go early before lunch!
I have been coming here for a while. Best Dim Sums I have ever had, but the lady at the counter is extremely rude. Try asking her for sauce.
It used to be my go-to place when I want a quick bite. However, recently I dined in and got cold vegetables that weren't appetizing at all. Normally I wouldn't mind, but this time I asked the staff if it was hot, and she said yes. I found that dishonesty puts me off more than the bad customer service.
The girl behind the counter has little respect on the food. Our combo A looks exactly like this when we ordered it. The shrimp dumplings have broken wraps. Will not come here again.
