Really enjoyed my dining experience at Cayenne. I only eat out once every month and this restaurant was SO worth it! The portions were generous and flavours were really exotic and different (in a good way). Unique fusion of African and Indian flavours. The Chicken Serena was amazing. So juicy and tender with a wonderful smoky, tangy sauce that was so delicious. The owner was so lovely and warm and took the time to come over and chat with us. It’s like going to eat at your favourite relative’s house. Will be back again very soon!

Excellent service from the male owner. He treated us like VIP's even though this was our first visit. Later when others came in, they all seemed to know him - most likely repeat customers.Food was good but I would say more Indian than African. The owner says that the way they use the spices is a bit different than traditional Indian cuisine. In my mind, I was expecting Ethiopian style but this restaurant is Tanzanian/Indian fusion. The chicken curry (mooja?) Was very good. Tasted light and more akin to Chinese chicken porridge. The rib eye was good but the marinade wasn't too different from other cuisines. They had a lot of snacks for sale at the bar. One recommendation to the owner is to put a sign that describes each item with the corresponding price. The server didn't quote the prices accurately and I had to find out out after I got the bill.Peanuts are very spicy with only a slight hint of lime.I would highly recommend the power balls made of different nuts and spices - that was unique! The double baked almond cake was very nice and home-made.Will definitely be back again to try their other dishes.Reservation is recommended.

Amazing restaurant, we'll definitely be back!First time visiting this restaurant last night for mom's birthday dinner and we're definitely coming back. The food was delicious, there are plenty of options to choose from no matter what you're in the mood for and the portions are very generous. Everyone at the table was stuffed by the end of the night. The service was on point, the sever & owner were both very kind, friendly and attentive. We had talked to the owner and let him know it was our moms birthday and at the end of the night the staff brought out a little dessert surprise and sung happy birthday without us even asking!Definitely a winner when it comes to great food and customer service.Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed!

Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, caring staff and customers. Thank you, Naz, for the great recommendations. I loved my meal, especially desert! Look at how clean the restaurant is, reflection of the gorgeous textured white wall and beautiful lights in the black table!

Got the platter, naan and the goat biryani and everything was truly exceptional. Have been craving for good indian and couldnt find it in vancouver. If you are around, make sure you come here and give this a try. Recommended and i would for sure come back again in the future. Recommended!!

A nice offering of East African cuisine for those looking for a change. We ordered the Mogos (cassava fries) and the choma platter which had a mix of grilled items served with a slaw, veggie rice. Our favorite were the ribs. Tender and nicely seasoned but the mishkaki was overdone for our taste. Overall, a good experience.

Had the beef ribs, masala fish and Zanzibar Kuku Paka. Tried different sides with each dish. Very tasty! Friendly, welcoming staff helped with recommendations. Definitely recommend!

Amazing service and food at this family owned gem. We enjoyed Biryani and kuku Choma chicken. The Tusker beer was delicious and the kulfi for dessert.Extra stars for the home made hot sauce ? ask the chef for this side to light up your night!! Wonderful atmosphere and nice date spot.

My wife and I love this place for 4 specific reasons 1. The utter care and hospitality of the owners - they treat us like family and house guests 2. The place is spotlessly clean esp the bathroom - ( ultimate test for a restaurant - cause how you do little things is how you do big things ! ) 3. They are always extra careful with my wife’s gluten-free needs . 4. Finally, last but not least the cuisine is unlike any other run of the mill restaurant and very authentic to East Africa and it’s breadth of flavours with a creative , innovative touch ! We hesitate to tell you how good it is because we are scared it will make it so full we have to stand in line ! Finally or 5thly as a bonus… it has ambience , so it’s lighting and seating begs for a romantic date with my girlfriend of 37 years - my wife :-) ! Enjoy !

Food was delicious! Naz was a wonderful host. Love the uniqueness and variety of the menu. Looking forward to coming back :)
