Accommodating staff, kind of dark interior.. the fried chicken had a good flavour but I think they over fried or re-fried.. so it was chewy and dry.. soup and rabokki were good
Always drove by and my eyes always glanced at their yellow sign. So came to try out their signature pork soup at $17.99, made it large for extra $5 to share between two people and added an extra rice for $2. When the soup was served, it was bubbling hot, which I really appreciated. If you are not familiar with this soup, it will come as very bland. That's where you ask for salt and the server actually bring you a set of condiments from left to right: salted baby shrimps, salt, pepper and spicy paste. You get to add how much salt you want but to me personally it's not the same as having the salt dissolve during the cooking process. The pork meat was very tough so I don't think it's meant to be consumed so we really only drank the soup, ate the rice with side dishes. My verdict is this signature soup is not for me. I think I might come back for other Korean dishes on their menu but not their signature soup. At first glance, I got to say the menu is very hard to read with the design and placement of things. This is the first time I have to look hard to understand what I'm reading.
In my opinion, the taste of food at a restaurant is more important than the service, so despite all the bad reviews about this place, I think their pork gukbap is very legit and tasty. The plain soup is pretty bland, but they do provide seasoning at the beginning to spice it up. And the spicy soup I got is perfectly seasoned. Definitely hit the spot on a cold rainy day!
My first time. Got Bibimbap here so my girlfriend could try smth new in Korean cuisine…and got frustrated. The egg was overcooked, it didn’t spoil much the taste but this is not the way it should be.Thx this dish can be no spicy here in compare to next door restaurants
The server was very friendly!! And taste was really good. But i gave 4stars because of price. Pork stew was $18 and bulgogi was $18?19. Compared to other Korean restaurant it was expensive.
I tried pork stew and garlic fried chicken. The chicken was okay but the stew was way to blend. I asked the server if they could redo the soup but was refused. I did not finish my meal and it was not a great experience
Great place whenever my hubby craves busan pork soup when he gets cold. He feels instantly better after the soup. They say the content gets measured to the same but I feel that the quality and the quantity are much less at busier times. Today I complained that I did not get much meat last time then I got the most meat in the soup that I ever had. I wish the quality and quantity always get consistent. Another suggestion...revise the menu to include sharable dishes between 2 people who also has a soup for each. We would order a medium size bossam or sundae for 20 dollar range to share but they only have 40 dollar range...so we end up not ordering..I think if there was a smaller, less expensive option we would order it every time.
Great dinner and lucky we came early so no need to wait for a table
The servers, especially the manager, are very kind. I feel like I'm at home when I'm there. They give you a lot of food, and I'm always happy with the service. One of the best Korean restaurants in the Lower Mainland! :)
The foods are delicious. I like the stone bibimbap, toppoki and their side dishes. The price is also reasonable compared to their portion size. The restaurant's atmosphere, serving time and service were also good. However the fried chicken was a little bit dry.
