First off, I want to say I love the concept of BP, it's like having hot pot, but without paying the premium for that hot pot experience, if that makes any sense. With BP being a franchise, the consistency of their food is almost always the same every time you visit, so you know what you're gonna expect when you visit. *drinks may vary (tt)*Speaking of drinks, most of them are on the sweeter side, so go 50% or 30% sugar. ( this is coming from someone who usually orders %30-0% sugar at coco for pearl milk tea, depending on which branch I visit. 30% at Comebuy for teas and milk teas, and 50% for fruit drinks, just to give an example)Lunch combos are probably the best bang/buck, drink + mini hot pot.Dinner for 4, was $81.53 CAD all together (price as of 6/26/2022) that's a steal in my book considering the inflation and rising costs for literally everything, for the quality of food served.
Amazing! Was our first ever here as we were planning to originally go next door to Marutama Ramen but but the line up was long and it was raining too.So we decided to check this place just next to it and it did not disappoint at all in fact it's over than what we expected it to be.Seating was pretty effecient you get to register on their tablet out front and they call your name while you sit down on the waiting area. (We were seated after 15 mins)We ordered the lamb and beef hot pot after 15 mins our food was served came in unique hot pot tray.Food was great, taste and broth! It's a Happy ending for us! Plus the candy that they gave in the end is nice.
So good I had it twice in one week. Which isn't unusual for some people but I had to ditch the kids twice and let the grandparents take care of them so I can sneak away with friends to eat here! That should tell you that I value my outside time and ain't going to mess around with a hit or miss joint. Great service at the one on main Street. Basic service at the one by Metrotown. I tried the beef and the Miso. I definitely prefer beef. Piping hot and oh so comforting.
No reservations, they have a reservation kiosk inside. Went for lunch, there was about a 20 minute wait. The cleaning agent for the tables was very strong almost overpowering the soup aromas. Service is fast. Had the seafood and tofu.Friends had the beef and lam. Zero complaints. Hot pot at BP is delicious as always.
Very good food and satisfying
Boiling Point (沸點) serves various Taiwanese Hot Pot Soups. They are served in individual pots for each person. Going there during lunch time is a better deal as the hot pot soups are $1 cheaper and you also get a free iced green or black tea for free too. Dinner time is $1 more expensive for the hot pot soups and you also don’t get a free iced green or black tea. For the hot pot soups, you can choose your choice of a complimentary side white rice or vermicelli. In addition, you can choose the various spice levels for the hot pot from none to flaming hot. As someone who enjoys both AYCE hot pot and set meal hot pots, the dishes at this restaurant were quite delicious and there were a number of creative takes on different styles of hot pot. The value for the hot pot is pretty decent, however it's best not to come here if you're extremely hungry. Expect long lines, however you can input your phone number and then go do something else while waiting which was nice!
On a rainy and cold day, having hot pot is definitely the food of choice for me, and Boiling Point is always on the top of my list. There are many different broths/soup bases to choose from, with different proteins. I like Curry Hot Pot and Seafood & Tofu Pot. Each hot pot also comes with a free tea drink. The portion is large enough for one person. All ingredients tasted fresh and the price was quite reasonable. I always come early to avoid the line up. I recommend this to anybody that likes hot pot.P.S. tonight we came back for dinner , unfortunately the rice tasted terrible. I hope the owner can do something about this .
The food wasn't bad but they mixed up the spice level of the soup for my wife and I. The vermicelli that came along the soup was basically raw. I'd give them another chance but the competition out there in this segment is pretty tough that getting it right the first time matters a lot. Maybe will visit in future but not anytime soon.
Good portion and reasonable price. The tofu was a bit different from the one sold in the marketplace, I wonder if it's homemade tofu. The meal was good, it just the servers weren't really friendly, like they're not liking their job? No passion... it was ok.
