I tried this place a few weeks ago and it was just okay. The food was a bit under seasoned but it was fine for a quick eat. I will say, their hot sauce is VERY hot. I love spice so it was fine for me, but if you're not sure, definitely ask for the sauce on the side.They put hot sauce and garlic sauce inside of the pita that comes on the side. Like I said, I enjoyed it but definitely let them know to put the sauces on the side if you like your pita to be a bit more structured.
After hearing people online rave about how great this place is, we decided to try Abdul's after being disappointed by most other places. As the star rating suggests, this place not only tastes far worse than others, with the meat being dry, it looked like it was literally scrapped from the bottom of a pan and shredded into pieces. As for price, I find it almost offensive that they charge 20 dollars for a chicken plate and 23 dollars for a lamb plate. There are far better places in this city, and there is absolutely no reason why I would recommend this place.
Place was not clean, I ordered a mix of chicken and beef on rice. Tasted not bad but far from good, but portions were big. Was not going to leave one star but while I was eating I noticed the lady who made my food clean bits from the top of the containers and throwing them back into the sauce. Worst part was she wiped a piece of lettuce front he counter and picked it off the washcloth then throwing it back into the lettuce container, mind you my friend was eating the wrap at the time.
The best Shawarma in Canada. Home made fresh every morning with Abdul’s own traditional recipe. Bring a friend. Parking is easiest on Kingsway opposite side of the street, or at the Shopping center parking lot on Willingdon.
Best Donair meat anywhere in the lower mainland. Real steak and Real lamb chopped up super fine.Limited number of toppings, but you wanna go for the meat if you are a red meat aficionado.
This is a hole in the wall, very well priced food. However could use some sprucing up on there.Food was filling but nothing over the top flavor was good I felt that wrap could have been heated up a bit. Service is friendly here. But parking might be a bit tough to find, if walking then great place to spot and get a bite.
I’ve been coming here for the last 20 years! This place has always been consistent with the quality and portion of their food. If I could give 6 stars I would. Abdul the owner still works here from time to time, always nice to see him and say hello. Keep up the great work!
Delicious food, The shawarma, rice plates and falafel are delicious! I’m mostly vegetarian but the chicken here is so cooked to perfection, crispy bbq grill to perfection it was delicious. Me and my husband will be regulars here now and the owner is a very nice gentleman. Cute little location perfect for lunch, takeaway or a date night ?❤️???
The place is in strategic location, but there are few things I want the owner to look into (nothing personal).1. The hygiene of the restaurant needs significant improvement2. The food doesn't taste fresh at all. I did throw the entire meal the first time I purchased, but then after sometime I decided to pay a second visit in case that was an isolated case, but did end up being given the same tasteless, burnt and non-fresh food. Decided to never come back.
Had the same issue with burnt and tasteless shawarma.The owners need to relaunch the place with fresh menu items, fresh food and better sanitation. The food is probably cooked days ago, refrigerated and microwaved once an order is placed. I could say Chef Mic (microwave) is running the restaurant.
