My husband took us in for lunch on my birthday. We got seated right away and given menus. The waitress came back almost immediately to ask if we were ready - we'd barely at time to look at the menus - so she said she'd come back....and didnt. We watched her chat with other tables.. and I mean LONG chats.. and after 20 min. we left.. As we walked out, we told the hostess our waitress disappeared.. and then viola there she was.. but we were bit frustrated - I had really wanted to try their butternut squash raviloi. but we were too frustrated to even give it another try! We will try again tho.. we have been before and had better service.. so this could have been a 'one off'! Trying to talk my husband into going again, but not much luck. We have friends who eat there regularly.. and they seem to love it. So .. it seems to be a bit of a crap shoot as to whether you'll get good service. We can't rate the food as we didn't get a chance to eat!
We waited to get (with reservation) we waited for drinks, we waited for drinks after we ordered, we waited for taking dinner order, my dishes were cleared before I was finished, then they were taken while my wife was still eating Oh I forgot we had to ask for cutlery. After all of that we were given the bill not even a mention if we wanted coffee or dessert. It was not a good evening by a long shot.
The food was very good but not the service. The place was busy but we had to wait for a long time to place our order. When we asked for a hot water refill it took forever to get it. We were almost done with the meal when the refill arrived.
Had an excellent meal for 9 and the food all arrived at the same time, hot and delicious. Had a really nice dinner and the wait staff were attentive but not too much, friendly but not obnoxiously so. Lots of food choices but limited parking. Afternoon happy hour was pleasantly fair priced and had some really really good options. Dinner for 9 still caused sticker shock but that's to be expected in these inflationary times
I meet my dad for lunch here once a week and our experience is made by our server Madison. She is the reason we keep coming back. She is attentive, kind and makes us feel like she looks forward to welcoming us back. She remembers the details of our orders and checks in on conversations or things we had said the week before. She is a bright light at that location and even if week after week I may not feel like eating the same thing we will continue to be back as it’s such a sweet experience for myself and my dad due to her.
Hit Abbotsford Cactus Club Joe was our waiter we had the best service and evening we could every ask for he made our girls nite out the best nite!!!!
We celebrated my parents anniversary and the experience was fantastic! Our waitress Tina was unreal, had all of our orders perfect, was super friendly and very punctual. She also had a perfect little dessert brought to the table for my parents. I would highly recommend asking to be seated in her section. Great job and great food!
We have been going to this location for a couple of years now and always enjoyed it. We have our favourite menu items and have always had great service. Seems with the takeover staff has been moved around and the service is pretty good, but not like before. Seemed harder to get the attention of anyone. Things like having to ask for extra soya sauce and being brought a tiny tiny bowl when they used to just give you a small carafe ? We then had to ask for more again, so where's the economy there? Smaller portions, higher prices - understandable in the current climate if the standards are the same. We'll try again but......
3 people 6:30pm, Very busy establishment with a 45 min wait for a table. Sat at the bar to eat instead. Female bartender with dark long hair was snarky and ignored us for over 10 minutes, but then realized she was serving kind people and changed her tune. Food is hot and delicious. Lettuce Wraps are the best!! My friend is getting married and the bartender overheard this news so brought a piece of complimentary congratulations cake for her. That was very Nice!! Not a lot of parking when busy. Definitely make a reservation by 4pm. I recommend this location. 4 Stars
Food quality at the Cactus Club continues to decline, while the noise levels increase. The staff overdo the perky “how’s your day going so far” routine. Our dinner was mediocre at best. I had the Tuna Poke bowl which had an abundance of cabbage and lettuce ribs and rice with some edamame thrown in. There was tuna, but you had to search for it and with barely any sauce, it was tasteless. Others at the table had the ‘signature’ butternut squash ravioli with shrimp. The shrimp were cooked appropriately but absolutely tasteless. The ravioli were bland, boring and stodgy. The sauce was the only saving grace. The prices on the wine list are increasing and the portions decreasing. The options for wine by the glass are now 5 and 8 ounces, compared to the previous 6 and 9 oz options. Oh, they no longer provide a taster if you are unsure whether a wine is going to suit you. I understand and appreciate that the restaurant industry has been through a challenging 2 years, but you won’t get people back if you don’t pay attention to the food quality which is what you used to be able to count on from the Cactus Club. It’s no longer casual fine dining. It’s chain restaurant food served in a noisy environment at fine dining prices.
