Went for dinner with my husband food was good and good portions. The server was very smiling and pleasant with other customers but not to us….. maybe because we had a groupon? We tipped her for the whole bill as we always do but she made us feel like our busses meant less.
Massive yet delicious portions of pasta, amazing entrees, salads etc. Best Italian food in St Albert by a country mile.. always excellent service as well. Have been a regular for years and will continue to be. Thanks Toto!
Great little place, reservations are recommended. Friendly staff and delicious fresh food has made this authentic restaurant a new favorite. The carbonara is scrumptious and very generous portions. Highly recommended.
I placed a order to be picked up. The sauce was wonderful but the sauce far outweighs the amount of pasta and cheese for a pasticcio order. I actually made more pasta as it it was just sauce for an appropriate meal. When we eat in-house it's always the perfect portions but take out has disappointed several times. I realize that in ordering pick up this is not this restaurants strong point and I should realize as a family should just do in person visits.
This place is no joke; definitely the best Italian restaurant in the province! Reservations are a must! Went in yesterday (mother’s day) for dinner with myself and my mom, we had emailed for a reservation a week in advance so we had assumed our table would be secure, unfortunately we never received a confirmation email to confirm our table but thankfully the hostess was kind enough to offer us the bar where we could sit and eat or wait to see if a table no-shows for their reservation.- we ended up sitting and eating at the bar where we had an amazing time!The service from the bartender was incredible, although the place was crazy busy, they still managed to pull it off and the drinks were perfected from Bellinis to Cappuccinos!Food was incredible! Nellos serves the biggest prawns i’ve ever seen and the best pasta! We ended up taking home 4 jars of their original sauce!Will definitely come here again and will call prior to if making an online reservation! It’s so easy to miss those confirmation emails!
Usually good. But not this time. Ordered tenderloin. Fatty. Thin. Small. Tender but not flavorful.But they rook it off our bill. Been there over 20 times. First time not up to par.
I had booked a dinner with my son for 5:30 on Mother's day well in advance. When we arrived (on time) the hostess notified us they had overbooked and do not have any seating available. But they were wiling to sit us at the "bar" (which is barely even a bar, it consists of a handful of stools with little room to even put a full sized plate down) and include a free drink and appetizer. We decided to leave as that is not what we had asked for and they did not even have the diligence to call us ahead of time to apologize for overbooking so that we wouldn't waste our time driving there. Needless to say we did not have a place to eat last minute on mother's day.As well, the last couple of times we had gone the chicken was incredibly overcooked and chewy. The portions are also so oversized that the temperature of the meals is inconsistent (warm on the edge but cold inside).Another restaurant that has really gone downhill the past couple of years.
My husband likes the big portions. I wish I could get my salmon 'moist' and a decent 'old fashion' but it hasn't happened yet. Staff are great tho.
Wow! What a hidden gem! Very comfortable, cozy atmosphere, our server was spectacular! She really nade the evening wonderful. Menu is quite varied and our choices were amazing. Large portions and very tasty. Definitely going back!
This has always been one of our favorite places to celebrate special occasions, or just go out for a great dinner. We have visited Nello's twice in the past month, and have noticed the portion sizes were about half the sizes over our previous visits. We totally understand that rising costs are tough on everyone. Our preference would be to increase the costs, rather than impact quality & portion sizes.
