Great Canadian Cookhouse. Amazing Ribs, steak & appetizers. Awesome drink , beer & wine selections. Great 1/2 price selections during happy hour 2-4 pm. Dog friendly patio. The pecan chicken salad is amazing for a lighter dinner!
Went here for a special ossasion. The staff here was great. The table was dirty but aside from that, everything was spectacular. Our server, May was so informative and helpful. The manager Amanda was also so nice and easy to speak to. The food was good and the prices were so affordable during there happy hour 2-5pm and 8pm to close 7 days a week. Also wednesday all you can eat ribs! Like whoa! Ill be posting in the future about that. I recommend you go here.
Definitely not the experience I was hoping for.Actually walked out, no drinks no food not even a server in sight no nothing . Server apparently went Mia said from another staff member who had no idea about anything about the menu. As lovely as she looked not really helpful.Bar totally out of control. Over serving. Customers puking outside. For a family restaurant total disappointment. And to top it off they don’t have meatloaf or mashed potatoes anymore FYI
Food was hot but not good at all I would give zero stars if I could! We ordered take out the steak was so overdone (ordered medium rare) it was inedible, it was dry and leather tasting. Potato was hot and loaded but again very dry and tasteless. We got spinach dip and the dip was great although not enough we ran out of dip about halfway thru and the pitas were obviously recooked and were not good oil burnt and hard.
We had a small family reunion at your restaurant last weekend. There were adults and children. We were very well taken care of and we all enjoyed our meal. The staff helped us out with spills by the kiddos. I want to thank you for our very good experience at your restaurant.
Very good food and service, the waiters are very kind and hospitable, oh! ......and the mini donuts are to die for!!
It hurts me to write a negative review for Montana’s because it’s one of our favorite restaurants and has been for many years.I’m also not one to post negative reviews either but my dinner last night (March 26, 2022 from the main St Albert Alberta location) was horrible. We ordered for take out the grilled cheese brisket sandwich for my self, the antojitos and a brisket burger for my wife because I worked a 15 hour day and just wanted to eat a good meal.I don’t expect the food to look like the picture on the website but when I’m paying $18 for a sandwich I expect it to have more substance than 2 or 3 bland and over cooked pieces of “brisket” that were hardly appetizing and I ended up throwing it away.In this day and age where mom and pop restaurants are bending over backwards to make great food at a good price I was embarrassed for Montana’s that they would even send this out. I hope this was just an off night by whoever made this and not of what’s to come from now on.
Used to love this place but after yesterday, not so much. The restaurant has a grubby feel to it…plastic/glass in doors and dividers was filthy. Side plates and cutlery was dirty. Bathrooms need basic sanitary upgrades (like motion activated paper towels, sanitizer stations outside the doors, etc). When we were seated, we were told there’s not enough menus but the server would tell us about the happy hour specials. She didn’t. We tried the lawn mower draft which was good (albeit too foamy). Ordered deep fried dill pickles specifically as an appetizer. They forgot the dip. They also placed our meal order at the same time so the meal came within minutes of the appetizer. By the time we had a chance to eat the appetizer the meals were cold (obviously). My partner didn’t care and ate it anyway and was nearly done when the server eventually came to “check” on us. She asked, “everything good?” while not even breaking stride passing our table - she didn’t even want a response! It was almost comical. When she eventually returned, she just asked if I needed a box (for my only one bite gone meal), apparently still not caring to really know how everything was.Stunned, we left, $80 lighter and with a bad taste in our mouths.
We stopped in mid-afternoon for a bit to eat/late-lunch this past Sunday afternoon after errands the like. We hadnt been in sometime, and really just wanted to try somewhere different than our normal places we hit for lunches/appetizers/shareables. This visit definitely hit all the right buttons for a few shared items (no full meals this visit). We ordered a couple appetizers/starters to share. Wings (of course), antojitos, and ka-pow shrimp. Wings and antojitos were exactly what we were craving. Ka-pow shrimp were a bit over-cooked but we've had similar at other restaurants and i would say its just a fact that popcorn-shrimp will simply always be over done no matter where you get them lol. Beers were cold, and wife says her wine was decent enough for a house wine by the glass. Prices were reasonable as it turned out to be a happy-hour when we got there (we werent aware till seated in the lounge). Service was top notch. friendly, prompt, efficient without being pushy (Robyn was our servers name if i remember correctly). Definitely going to have to go back and not wait so long to return. Certainly ticked the wings-craving box. Easy to recommend for a mid-day break.
thank God I got ribs since they ran out of steak then ran out of baked potatoes. but the beef ribs were fantastic and still the best mashed potatoes around.
