I have always loved going to Sumo Sumo, the food is always good and the service is decent. I really like the Volcano rolls, and a few of the other specialty rolls. The tempura vegetables are really good but this time I think the dipping sauce was lacking a bit of flavor. Must have had an off day. I will go back as I have never been disappointed with my dining experience.
Amazing sushi. Whether you enjoy basic California Roll and more exotic Sashimi, Sumo Sumo has what you want. They don’t open until 11:30am, so they are only for Lunch and Supper(as you would expect for a Sushi place) so if you order on Door Dash, order right when they open, or you may be waiting for a portion of your lunch hour.
I had the Sashimi salad. The dressing was very good but the salad was quite large and outside of lettuce and onion had a minimal amount of everything. The service was good and the freshness of what was there was good. I would definitely go again but would not order that particular dish.
I am so flabbergasted by my experience ordering Door Dash from here tonight. I couldn’t add the price of extra sauce(a drizzle over the top) to my sushi order on the app so I wrote a note for them and then called the restaurant to make sure it made sense. Getting that extra sauce was essential as that is the only way my child will eat sushi. I told them this. The girl I spoke with couldn’t care less she passed it off as a Door Dash problem. I said okay I’d like to cancel my order then because there’s no point, my child won’t eat it, I don’t want it anymore. (She couldn’t do that it’s only the app) God forbid they just throw it in for me since THEY didn’t know a way to charge me for. I WANTED to pay for it. I didn’t care how much it costed. Never in my life have I been told that I cannot have the products I am asking for from a business ever, anywhere because “we don’t know how to charge you for it”. *Face palm* Maybe they need to change how their menu works on Door Dash or figure out over the phone solutions, I don’t know. If Door Dash is regularly causing problems for your customers like this that you have no solution for them why use it? It’s not just Door Dash’s fault it’s just as much yours for being affiliated with them and using them as a delivery option for your business.??♀️ By the time this phone conversation was finished it was too late to cancel my order. All this headache for what $2.00?! I just wanted a quick, easy dinner for my family to eat hence the use of Door Dash.What a fail.Little things like this make SUCH a big difference to people and is a huge reminder why small restaurants, who actually care about their customers satisfaction, are the way to go. Lost us as customers!
Sushi is not wrapped tightly and falls apart. Pretty disappointed with the inconsistent food we have received. We do enjoy their sushi when it doesn't fall apart before we can eat it. Sadly it's been to many times and we will not be spending more money here.
Had to wait about 15 min to get seated while no one else was waiting. Family came in after us and ended up leaving due to no one talking to them about being seated. Food was good and wait staff were nice. Asked for a bottle of cold sake and received a bottle heated which I was kind of disappointed with. Everything else was good though and sashimi was on point.
Fantastic Sushi! They have so many twists on sushi and rolls. You definitely want to try them out for a unique experience. BTW, the staff are extremely friendly and always make sure you are looked after. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed.
Best Sushi in Edmonton area! Even when travelling, and sampling other sushi establishements I still cannot wait to get back home to have Sumo Sumo! Their beef tataki is unmatched and love all their speciality rolls! It's a must go to curb all your sushi cravings!
The waitress was low key pressuring my friend and I to order drinks when we mentioned twice we were good, it was making us very uncomfortable. The food was very average and a bit pricy compared to some other sushi places in Edmonton. I will not return.
