The dine in area is very limited, but its cozy and clean. All the seafood dishes were fresh and rich. my friend ordered deep-fried chicken bento, it was very crispy and tasty. highly recommend this place.

Well I have to say I was super impressed with the sushi.I was recommended to this place by my sister and I read the reviews before going. The place is really small and can only sit about 12 people maximum. So if you plan to go there and eat you’d better get a reservation. The food itself was wonderful and the waitress was very excellent. The reason I cannot give this place 5 stars is because of two things. First of all, the set up is really not good. You feel cramped and every time someone goes to the washroom you get disturbed. The layout is really tight and there really is no ambiance. Secondly, the menu is too limited to me as I was expecting all the main stays of a sushi restaurant. What I want to say is that I found the place to be a little confusing. The food and service is top notch but the atmosphere doesn’t match it. It’s like eating fine dining from a fast food joint.Definitely go if you want great food (sushi was really amazing) and good service. But if you want to have comfortable conversation or it is a special occasion or date night, probably not the right place. Maybe this is what the owners were shooting for.If these guys had a better set up in terms of seating and lighting, I don’t think there could be a better place. The limited menu is also okay since they seem like specialist who don’t want to just give the standard food.Okay, after reading the response from the owners I changed my rating to a 5. The exceptional quality of food trumps everything. I have to go back and experience it again in the future.

My son and I wanted to try out this new place and it sure didn’t disappoint. Very fresh and high quality seafood. Presentation is elegant. No fishy smell and literally melts in your mouth. We ordered a few different maki rolls, sashimi sanshu 9 piece, some bento bowl that my son ordered, and miso soup. Everything tasted so clean and fresh. This is by far the best sushi place in Edmonton and surrounding area. It’s now our go to for sushi. My only complaint is the washroom is a bit dirty especially for a new place.

Kobachi is honestly the best sushi experiences I have had in the greater Edmonton area. They serve more traditional non westernized sushi and let the quality of the fish shine through. The miso tuna was absolutely fantastic as well as thier tamago. The service was excellent and I was frequently checked on the entire time. The restaurant itself is small but inviting, I went during a quite time after the lunch rush but I would highly recommend making a reservation.Parking is a bit of a hassle in this area but it is well worth it.Again this is easily one of the best Japanese restaurants in the greater Edmonton area, beating out the big names like Japanios Bistro and Mikado easily. I would recommended this restaurant to anybody that loves sushi.

Wonderful food and staff. Unique selection of sushi, drinks, and other wonderful foods. The staff are above and beyond in explaining every item of the menu along with pairings. The chef actively inquires feedback. There is no denying it they love what they do and love sharing their exquisite foods and drinks. I am at a loss for words.

Excellent Japanese cuisine. If you long for authentic high quality Japanese food look no further. This small restaurant treats the food and customers with care and attention. I had sashimi, scallops from Hokkaido, salmon from New Zealand and excellent tuna, it was delicious and healthy. Another person had a beef noodle soup with a hint of spice which tasted like Japan. Another person had chicken teriyaki which again could have pictured us in Tokyo. We had two delightful deserts, a creme brule with apple ensemble which was equisite and a light lemon custard, so refreshing. Stop wondering where to find the best Japanese food and come here.

Amazing experience! It's a small place so I would recommend calling in advance to reserve a seat. The hype for this place is definitely warranted, the taste is close if not on par with sushi in Japan. You can tell they put a lot of care and attention to detail for each dish served. They even timed serving each dish perfectly.I'm already drooling at the thought of coming back here again one day!

Nice little lovely place. Food is good and the service is average. Food is a bit slow but better than the Edmonton average. Fish is pretty fresh but there are better places like Japonais bistro and Damso. Price is decent.

We ordered the duck udon, sushi combo, and the sashimi bento. The duck udon is fantastic, tender duck pieces with a rich tasty broth. The fish was very fresh for our sushi and sashimi with great flavour and preparation. The one thing that was disappointing was that our rice that came with the sushi and bento was not sushi rice. Didn't have the slightly sour/sweet flavour of the vinegar at all. We thought initially this was just the way the restaurant does their rice so we didn't say anything but spoke with some friends afterwards who have been there and they said they definitely had sushi rice so we're a bit disappointed by that. So it seems like an anomaly but it took away from the experience for sure.

Great atmosphere and friendly host/server! The restaurant is small and seats approximately 10-15 people! There’s no doubt that it is one of the best sushi in Edmonton surrounding. Everything tasted fresh and I love the attention to all the little details! Most definitely give it a try!Make sure to call for reservations and there are plenty of parking nearby! Worth every dollar!
