Ordered a Guinness, it had a best before date of 7 months ago. Sent it back.. one person ordered a Sunday seafood special. The bill charged for the Guinness and the special at regular price. Check your bill carefully. Usually enjoy a visit to Earls, but not last night!
Great food.and delicious drinks. But the happy hour menu was a bit deceiving... saying pizza and spinach dip for 13 something... maybe I didnt read closely but I thought it was together... but they meant 13 dollars each.
We ordered appetizers and salad on the patio. We never received cutlery and ate everything with chop sticks that were on the table. We sat with empty drinks for over half an hour and were never asked if we wanted another. Sat with dirty plates for about 15 minutes. The service was very disappointing. Not sure if we just a bad day or if it is always this poor.
Nearly a month ago, I made a reservation for my bfâs birthday and left a note asking for a slice of cake at the end of our mean. When we arrived at the restaurant, I called the waitress aside to remind her that I wanted a cake with a candle to end our meal. We had a different waitress, who brought our amazing food while being completely unaware of it and asking to bring the check when we were all done. I'm pretty upset at the fact that they completely overlooked it. I was really hoping to surprise him. I love Earls and it will always be my favourite spot to eat and I just thought the restaurant should be aware of this. Thank you.
Good was great⦠there was no hostess at the front when we arrived for a good 10 mins. No apologies when she did. Server was great, waited a while to get our orders but at least apologetic. Not sure whatâs happening but it was not busy at all so I donât know why service was not fantastic.
Great service and food
I went to this restaurant about a year ago. I was overcharged for the meal. When I asked for a refund I was refused. No gift card either. They took my name and said they would keep it on file for a year. Fast forward to now and I returned. Food was good but they missed an ingredient in my dish. When I pointed this out, they brought it out in a separate bowl. Then I was overcharged AGAIN. This time I had her change my bill before I paid. Waitress apologized. I wonât be returning any time soon.
Restaurant had very pungent, unpleasant odor on entering - likely sour cabbage - that permeated all aspects of the meal. Will not return to that venue due to unpleasant smell. Ate at Earls on Calgary Train Crossing the day prior and it did not smell like that. Was embarrassed to bring friend who tried to be polite about it. Very noisy - on the unpleasant side of "energetic" - could not hear friend in booth across from me. Sound reverberating off the mirrored wall was louder than other Earl's which I would have characterized as energetic. Family of rambunctious young kids was sat right next to us when there were many empty tables elsewhere - my friend was jostled by the kids. Their parents were stressed disciplining the kids who just wanted to have fun. Just why? Lovely serving staff. Excellent food if you did not smell that sour cabbage smell.
Had a great dinner with friends. The food was excellent and the ambiance was very conducive to conversing with friends we hadnât seen in some time. Thanks Marie and the other staff who made it so enjoyable.
