I have dined at a lot of restaurants and George's is a family favorite. Though the food was good last night the service was HORRID! We were shown by one server to our table and she was so sweet. Our server came and she looked like she would rather be anywhere by there and acted like it too. She came and asked if we wanted drinks "What do you want to drink?" We told her. Brings the drinks back, says "Have you decided, what do you want?" It was almost like she was pissed off. Best way I can describe it. She took our order. I was stunned that the effort never went into upselling to soup or salad for either of us. Specials....no idea what they were. She never told us. Most restaurants have specials or a soup of the day. Nope!! Our meal came out and the food was good. Though I think on my chicken souvlaki I was short changed on chicken. I've had it there before and had way more chicken then I had last night. When our server came (brace yourself for this one) she literally tossed the plates on the table so hard I thought that they were going to break. She didn't place them on the table, she kind of half threw them on the table and then dropped them on the table....Trying to get another refill I had to ask the other server. In all fairness our server did come back but she was still rude. She brought the bill slapped it on the table and walked away, no goodbye, have a nice night nothing. When I paid she ended up with $1 tip and she didn't deserve that. I told the nice gal up at the front and she apologized. Well not her fault but hopefully someone is informed. Let's put it this way if I ever went back and got her as my server I'd walk out. WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD.
Me and my boyfriend love coming here it’s our place but tonight really changed that for us. Our waitress was rude and gave us horrible service, not to mention my French onion soup had hair in it and tasted moldy. We We’re better off cooking at home then spending the 60$ here that we did. I would love to know if they have new management or why the management they have isn’t doing anything about this.
What bummer. Food took over an hour to arrive from north end to north end and cost was 80 to feed x2 adults, which I would have been okay with if I had have recieved the quality i have known George's for. On arrival order was incorrect in multiple ways, they forgot the extra cheese on my pasta (but not to charge for it), my mexican pasta was watery, flavorless, they forgot the meatballs (ordered 4 they sent 2) and the quality of the meatballs was the worst I've seen, they were falling apart and half the size they used to be. Also they even had the incorrect address written down on the tag. *sigh* George's was an institution in RD and to see the will quality drop like this hurts my heart. My family loved this restaraunte for years and I dont know if the management or staff has changed but I am not the only one who has had this type of experience. Sad to say that if they dont get it together I'll have to find a new go 2 for my family take out nights.
Awful experience. We went there to celebrate my Grandparent’s wedding anniversary as they used to love going there and what a mistake that was. Especially when celebrating something so wonderful!! The waitress was rude, not ever checking in to see if we needed anything, we would have to track her down to get another drink. Half of the appetizers were not brought out, and one of them was brought out after the main course was finished. One meal was given to wrong person and when mentioned the waitress asked if the other person would be okay taking the meal that had already been partially eaten. Not to mention that the food was burnt. Needless to say it was truly a shame to see a locally owned restaurant display such service. We will be choosing elsewhere for our next outing.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Just coming home from George's for a Father's Day dinner. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Yells and screams coming from the kitchen were nonstop, our waitress was rude, food was bad, one of our meals came with noodles, terrible noodles, and it was hard to eat. Our drinks were halfway filled. We asked our waitress for extra plates and she never brought them to us. Moreover, our waitress would make very uncomfortable comments, which made the whole experience horrific. George's was my family's favourite restaurant in Red Deer. We will never come back, and would never recommend this place to anyone as well. DON'T GO HERE!
Spectacular!!!! First I would like to send out a truly Heartfelt Thank You to this establishment!!! EVERY!!! Wednesday George’s offers an Incredible offer to our Seniors!!! Huge selection of items off of the menu for $9.95 ? ALL DAY!!! Beautiful Veal, Chicken, Fish Dinners just To name a few!! The Food is Amazing, Fresh and Homemade!!! the Service was Amazing!!! Fast and almost Over attentive!!!! ?Pizza is out of this World !!!! I Love this Place!!! Keep up the good work!!!!
The best staff, the best food in the entire city defiantly a must stop there, you will love the lasagna, the pizza, the steaks and the friendly staff highly recommend stopping at George’s they are an icon in red deer
We phoned are order in They were very polite on the phone with are order we get a free side of dry ribs my husband picked are order up and came home are ribs were not in the bag. we recalled and said we didn't get them they said what do u want us to do my husband said we are coming pick them up driving again to get are order my husband comes with the ribs the Tasteless......................... ribs with half a half of grease in the bottom of the container how do u call that dry ribs they didn't not taste good at all. The lasagna was fair. we not be coming back we only wanted to treat not to cook.
When we order pizza, first brand is Georges. We have ordered many times from them and been happy. Until... Second last time our pizza was overcooked. Cheese was quite dark brown and taste was off. Last time (Junt 2022) the pizza we loce again let us down. We get rising food costs, labor shortage, all of it. One of the reasons we order from Georges was quality of the pie, lots of cheese, great taste, knowing it is not the cheapest in thre market. The pizza today was not the same quality (back bacon) and cheese was abouty half normal. Costing was the same. Pick up your game people or were done.
Took mom for lunch. She wanted George’s. Omg. Awful. Sat for almost an hour before food came. I ordered fish n chips but with onion rings. Supposed to come with veggies and garlic toast and didn’t. She ordered hot roast beef. She said she liked it. Mine was greasy and looked like they cut one piece of fish to make 3. Plus big glob of hard tarter sauce on side of the plastic container. Bathroom was disgusting filthy dirty. Floor has years of crud. Would hate to see what kitchen looks like. Mens bathroom out of order. Whatever you do don’t go there. Other than that pleasant visit. Complained but nothing offered to offset disgusting meal. Bad service. Really bad food.
