Definitely not the cleanest place I've seen. I asked about cross contamination (I'm a biopsy diagnosed Celiac) and they looked at me like I was from another planet.The biggest issue is this: they recently had a Human Rights complaint ruled against them. A skip the dishes driver who has a paralyzed arm was denied a drink holder. How is a man with one arm supposed to manage? You can Google it and read the article.I can understand shunning me for Celiac. Anything west of Ontario (until you hit B.C.) and some places will openly tell you it doesn't exist, just eat the bun. I can turn around and walk out, as I know they will not have my best interest in mind. But denying a paralyzed delivery driver with a drink tray? The guy is trying to earn a living in the best way he can. He lost out on money because of them. Beyond sad.
The food was okay, the curly fries were pretty good, but it's hard to ignore how run down the place is. Food was also pretty expensive for the portion sizes given.The seats are all duct taped together, and it doesn't look like it's seen a reno in years if not decades. I get it's not the most ideal location for high quality, but still was not a great experience and did not give me confidence my food was going to be from a well-maintained and sanitary kitchen if they can't even take care of the place where customers see.
Terrible service, rude employees, I would give zero stars if that was an option ? ? ? ? Burger was terrible compared to Five Guys, the Bathroom was very dirty with ants crawling all over. I managed to kill a dozen ants for them in the 60 seconds I spent in there. Absolutely avoid this place.
I cannot overstate how amazing this restaurant is! I am a teacher and I brought about 75 students to Red Deer. I initially picked Burger Boy because their prices were unbeatable and we always try to keep costs of field trips down for families.I contacted the owner in advance and she bent over backwards to accommodate my students with allergies and any other special requests we had. The food was AMAZING! I had 70 teenagers and not ONE complaint about the food-which is pretty much a miracle.I also made a lot of last minute changes to our order (some 20 mins before we picked it up) and she accommodated everything and never made me feel like we were being difficult (which we probably were!)We will make this a regular stop for our family and for my students on our trips to Red Deer!
Everything on the dang menu is a gem. Try the milkshakes! Try the Texas fried chicken! The burgers and fries are to die for. What a quaint and cute little spot in Riverside.
Great food and friendly staff. Stopped here for lunch on our road trip from Edmonton to Lethbridge. Came in with a screaming toddler, left with a happy kid. She loved the hamburger soup!
Great burger joint, friendly welcoming staff, fantastic food! So happy I finally took the time to stop while driving passed this place. When you're having one of those cravings for a "authentic" old fashioned well made burger. No fuss no muss. Just great well seasoned burgers, love their "smash burger" style of beef patties, with the softest pillowy brioche bun that is strong enough to stay together all the way to your last bite. The hearty steak-cut french fries, served hot and delightfully well seasoned, crispy golden exterior and fluffy potato interior. Really enjoyed my lunch! Highly recommend. I'm definitely going back! I'm interested in trying their milkshakes. Sorry forgot to take a picture - had my mind on the delicious burger!
Went here yesterday, best Burger ive had in years.Very nice to see a mom and pop burger shop still going with the compentitive landscape.Im only in Red Deer once a month but you can bet ill be here everytime im in town.Thank you,
Burger Boy is a very nice home style restaurant the staff are friendly but please don't go in and ask for double cheeseburger because that's not how it's done take the time to read the mein and order what is listed. And if you like onion rings this is the place ot get them you should get two orders they really are that good I'm looking forward to going back for more
Great little spot. Shakes are great and burgers are tasty! Definitely a spot I’d drive across town for!
