The restaurant was horribly understaffed. You could see the stress. It took over 20 mins for our drinks to arrive, over an hour for our cold food to arrive and then the food wasn't even good! The fish and chips were barely edible. I sent mine back and it didn't come back until 10-15 mins. We complained and were given dessert which took another 20 mins. They served the pie ice cold from the fridge without ice cream. We won't be back.
I here this restaurant is under new ownership. That’s obvious. Horribly understaffed. Had a reservation for 4 pm.None of the staff knew what waitress was supposed to serve us. No one came to take our drink order until 4:30. Waited 10 min for our drinks. Gave our food order. Food didn’t come out for another hour. Food was cold. My fish had an odd bitter taste. Couldn’t eat it. I’ve been bringing my grandma to this restaurant for years. Her favourite place. We will not be back. I felt sorry for the waitresses. There just wasn’t enough of them. No one cleaning tables either. Every woman that came into the restaurant got flowers. No one at our table did. ( 4 mothers present)Our waitress looked like she was fighting back tears the entire time. Poor girl.
great service, great food and great prices. the food was terrific and our server Mary B , I think that was her name, was so great. what a cheerful friendly kind and patient young lady. thank you all for a great evening. all the staff were very nice
2/22/2022 Went here for supper. Service was very slow, took forever to get waters to the table. Finally, food orders were taken, with specifics given to the server on how food was wanted. When food was brought to the table, the homestyle turkey dinner was cold, gravy was set, meat was frozen and tasted as such, the beef dip was ordered with no onion, onions were on the beef dip, steak was ordered med rare with mushrooms on the side. Steak came well done topped with mushrooms, Salisbury steak was two half burnt beef patties maybe a table spoon of gravy. If it didn’t take 50 minutes to get the food, it would have all went back and we would have walked out. I'm a Chef and I'm confident saying, none of this product would ever leave my kitchen to a paying customer. Complaints were voiced and excuses given that they have a new system and its not recording it correctly. Not sure what’s going on in the back of house, no leadership I will guess.
Not very busy and service was very slow. The food wasn't very special and i feel click baited but the menu. I'm writing this review waited for them to come back for the bill. Soup was tasty though.
Honestly, I was having a hard time deciding on if I should post a review or not, but I had the kind of experience this morning that left a bad taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively.I believe ABC is under new-ish ownership/management, which may account for some of my experience. We went in today while it was moderately busy (although not packed, as I've seen it before) and were shown to our table for two. We got our coffee, and the waitress took our order. After that, we sat waiting for our meal, and our coffee cups were empty until the meals came out, when they were dumped on our table by another server while our's refilled our cups at the same time. When asked if there was anything else we needed, we noted that there was no jam for the toast - our waitress checked on at least 3 other tables before heading to the kitchen to grab that, and we then let her know they had also missed the butter for the waffles (our waitress stating the kitchen staff was "awful").As we got into our meals, the waffles had already gotten cold before the butter was delivered, and the poached eggs were incredibly inconsistent: ordered poached medium, and on two eggs, the whites came out unset with runny yolk, and the last one could have been a hard boiled egg. The second round of coffee was also incredibly bitter - likely a pot that had been sitting for a while.By the time the waitress came to check on us, the meals were basically done - she'd walked past us about half a dozen times. When I mentioned how bad the eggs had been (the hard one still sitting on my plate), the waitress told me "yeah, poached eggs are hard", and when I argued, "welll, when it's this busy"... about a quarter of the tables were empty, and honestly, I've seen it MUCH busier before.I normally wouldn't gripe about wait staff when it's a kitchen issue, but charging us full price for poor service and poor quality was irritating, especially when I had recently recommended ABC to a friend for their dinner menu. There's a new place in the north-west corner of town that I've had good experiences with, and similar pricing, so I may be giving ABC a break so that they can slow down a bit until their kitchen can take the time they need to make food properly, and their wait staff aren't as busy so they can spend enough time on the customers.Ughn.
Service was soooo slow. I'm a server and if I ever made my tables wait that long I'd be fired. Asked for water and didn't get it. Took forever for someone to come greet us, we had a movie planned so we didnt even get to eat a meal just pies so we could make our movie. The pies were meh. Not overly a fan of this restaurant and don't think we will be back again. Our server didnt seem like she could handle her tables. She didn't even greet us nice or ask how we are doing. This restaurant needs to get their staff proper training or hire someone who can take on tables and have a smile and great service. Whoever the manager is needs go get on staff training and Teach them proper table etiquette or hire someone who can.
Absolutely horendous service. There was almost no staff and it took several minutes to order food and much longer until we got it. The food was mediocre. I dont recommend eating here.
Service is awesome, with all the Christmas decorations it was almost like having a meal at home, and yes food was better than expected, and you have to try there homemade pies where delicious. You can also have 3 smaller pieces of pie for the undecided. Very good choice for a meal for my birthday ?
Amazing customer service from the restaurant manager tonight who went above and beyond to help us out. Great food gorgeous decorations. Will definitely be back soon ❤️❤️❤️?
