Despite having so many eateries, Lethbridge is somewhat lacking in nicer places to sit down and have a proper conversation, but Luigi's is perfect for this. Very reasonable prices, a good selection of quality dishes and excellent staff. One of the better restaurants in the whole city and is perfect for all manner of occasions, casual and otherwise.
This place was deceiving at first as it resembles a reputable steak house. It is very nice inside the restaurant and lounge. The only downside was the heavy, bulky chairs that don’t move across the flooring very well.One of the important aspects of my reviews always involve customer service. The customer service here was okay not great. Pleasant enough though The staff were not as knowledgeable about their selections or cuts (products) as one would expect from a restaurant to specialized in meats.The meats were are served at medium well to well done (as warned by our server) and although I asked for a medium rare steak I received one that was medium well done. I found it weird for a steak place to not be able to cook steaks to the customers request.Give this place a shot to make up your own mind though as maybe you like your meat a little firmer.
My wife and I went last night (July 13) for supper. The food was super and the service was excellent. But there is one reason that I didn't give you a five star rating. That reason being that I felt like ordering a dessert but was unable to because I am diabetic. There isn't anything on the dessert menu that a diabetic can order. So I watched my wife enjoy her dessert while sitting at the table enjoying my Diet Coke. Please consider putting at least one dessert on your menu for people like myself. So that we can enjoy the full experience of a meal out at the restaurant.
Got seated at 11:30 and the service started out okay. Brought out our drinks and took our orders. And that’s were the service stopped. It felt like they were annoyed that we were here. We had a party of 14 (nothing complicated)While we waited for our food they refused to check on us or offer us refills (maybe the owner is too cheap) When I finally got up to ask if we could get refills they told me only after they bring our food.It seems the server did not give a flying F about making sure we enjoyed our experience; possibly because they automatically included tue gratuity. Which should have been zero.With the price of eating out these days, the service should be nothing less then exceptional. You should feel appreciated that you have chosen to spend your money with what ever restaurant. That was not the case at Luigi’s South. I would recommend you got to Luigi’s North!! Anytime I have been there is seems they are extremely great full for your business. And will go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your experience. It seems like Luigi’s North wants you to come back. Not the case at the South location.
Great service. Great food. We were served hollandaise instead of Béarnaise Sauce but the meal was still delicious. Very well priced. Try your filet mignon black & blue.
Ordered steak well done and it was raw. O let the waitress know about it and she did nothing. I asked for a to go box and told her that I will take it back to the hotel and finish cooking it. My wife only left her with a $4.00 tip when we normally leave 20%.
Very friendly service. Food tasted great. My only issue would be that they don’t take American Express cards for payment. But that is generally a non-issue for most people.
Being a sat night we decided to take the family out for supper to south side Luigi. Great place on average, yet we will definitely go back to north side next time. The waitress was great for what she could do . The food was great once we had it. The wait time was horrendous. When asked 2x over when our food would arrive , the response was that the kitchen was flooded with orders. Hmmm when we look in the restaurant it was under 25% full .... We walk to the lounge to see 3 or 4 tables with a few people. The waitress was not to blame and still recieved a decent tip.... to bad she has to share that with the cook . Once again the meals were great!!
Booked the back room for my kids school band trip and they hosted and fed 70 people very well and everyone loved the food, especially those who wanted gluten free options.
