Ordered delivery on Sunday , July 10, 2022. One of my meals was Sambal Prawns for $28 and had less than 10 pieces in a small container. We had ordered from here before and this is the first time that I get less food for so much more money. It was very disappointing to say the least. Containers were pretty much only half full. Only the fried rice was the right amount for the container.

Great place to eat …very clean..very friendly staffThe food was delicious and freshThe best Thai food we ever hadWe thought the pricing was reasonableWe will drive from Red Deer again just for lunch/ Dinner

Stopped by on a whim… wow! Dry ribs amazing and biggest bowl of won ton soup ever. So impressed for our family. Spring rolls also fab!! Clean bathrooms. Love the couch seat.

This place is wonderful. I've had tropika in Vancouver before and this is my first time trying it in Edmonton. It's exactly the same great taste as Vancouver. You guys do a great curry and a crispy and soft roti. Will be back.

I grew up in Malaysia and Singapore and went to Tropika because our friends said it was a great place to dine. The restaurant was less than a third full and we waited over 20 minutes to be seated (we were a group of 4). The server was rude and “snappy” with his responses when we asked about certain dishes before ordering. It wasn’t just me, everyone at the table felt it. We ordered several meat and curry dishes, the Indonesian style fried fish, gado gado and satay chicken. The service was rather poor in terms of table service. The satay was undercooked (I believe someone else mentioned about this in their review too). They did not ask about whether we wanted to order beverages or water. In fact we had to ask for 4 glasses of water, twice. When the water arrive, our unhappy and rude waiter almost spilled a glass because he “slammed” the glasses down hard. It was almost comical to watch. The food was mediocre so I won’t waste time talking about it. We felt everything was overpriced and none of the dishes “hit a home run”. 5 dishes, no alcoholic or non alcoholic beverages. Only water. The bill was over $150. Perhaps the poor service and water were additional. I dislike posting negative reviews but the only thing about Tropika is it makes us appreciate the other good restaurants out there.

The taste of the dishes is pretty tasty and the portion is okay. My husband and I haven’t came here for years and decided to make a trip with our family to give it a try again.I remember the old Tropika location had more of a Malaysian feel inside the restaurant and was bigger. The feel at this location is average and smaller than the older one in what I can recall.I suggest to order their pineapple fried rice, Singapore laksa, rendang curry, and Hainanese chicken.

Having lived long enough in Malaysia to know (and love!) its local cuisine well, I decided to give Tropika a try today for the first time to fix my Malaysian food craving. My delivery order comprised of Sambal Ikan Bilis (anchovies in spicy/chilli paste) with steamed rice, and Hokkien Mee. The sambal/chilli paste flavor was pretty authentic, but I was extremely disappointed with the ikan bilis (anchovies). For those who don't know, the anchovies for this dish are usually prepared without its head (prepared with body/meat only), with some variations that include the head - as long as there is enough anchovy meat. This serving unfortunately was 90% anchovy head! It felt like an extremely cheap version of one of Malaysia's most popular dishes. Now the Hokkien Mee. See attached picture. Once again, Hokkien Mee is comprised of entirely the thick noodles you see sprinkled in the picture, and NEVER has the thin noodles (mee hoon), or fried egg that is making up the majority of this serving. What this actually is, is another Malaysian dish called Fried Mee Hoon - with a few strands of hokkien noodles sprinkled in and served as "Hokkien Mee". It was a decent Fried Mee Hoon plate at the end of the day, and a customer who can't tell the difference nor care would have probably enjoyed it. I was not expecting perfect/authentically flavored dishes from a Malaysian restaurant far from home, but I certainly did not expect inferior versions/ingredients either, and as such both these dishes were extremely disappointing. It is not like the restaurant does not have the ingredients to make these authentic dishes - they clearly have the anchovies and Hokkien noodles respectively. Would be nice if they didn't have to 'dumb down' the dishes so much.

Solid place to get Malaysian food! The food is absolutely delicious and I don’t find it to be too pricey- the portions are pretty decent. It takes a little while for them to cook, but the wait is definitely worth it! I would recommend one of their signature curries and the pineapple fried rice!

The food comes in big portions and it tastes delicious. The service is great and the servers always comes to great you with a smile.

We ordered take out and the portions were very small for the price we paid. Expensive and did not taste fresh. The pork was so thin, burnt and tasted old. The rice did not have much flavour. The only dish we liked was the curry beef but again the portion was small. In person the dishes were a lot bigger before the pandemic and the food was tasty. Now, the food is not the same and lacking flavour. I was very disappointed.
