We are new to Edmonton and our realtor recommended this restaurant. We were in last weekend for buffet before the game and the food was absolutely delicious! The staff and the service is top notch matching the beautiful decor. We will be back soon.
The owners are lovely people. However, I called and ordered for pickup today. The food was ready, however, it was terrible. "Chicken Fried Rice" had no flavor, no chicken, no egg, no veggies certainly wasn't fried either. the "Beef chow mein" lacked BEEF! and veggies. "Lemon Chicken" had excessive batter and was dry and chewy. I can go on, but I won't. I was disappointed and embarrassed to bring this for a birthday dinner tonight. What happened? You have a nice restaurant and you are such nice folks. I'm not sure why or when the quality went out the window.
Excellent service by the owner and family. Buffett had a good selection and was good. They treated us with exemplary service at our table of 9. Will be back with family.
Quite excellent, they even stayed open late for us on Saturday. Food was fantastic and the service was even better. We will be back again for certain!!

Still the best Chinese in Edmonton. We have been going here for over 20 years. My sister, cousin and I booked online for our dinner last night. It was my cousins birthday and Tom who has been there for years was our waiter. He is always so pleasant and humorous. Our food by far did not disappoint. From the ginger beef, lemon chicken, shrimp and the gluten free options excellent. Delicious! We had to get 4 leftover trays for the amount of food we did not eat. Tom thank you for making my cousins and sister birthday dinner special Remember to make reservations you can do it online through their website.

Went to the Lingnan for the buffet they had! Gotta say, the service was unparalleled! They were so so kind, professional and attentive! They kept clearing plates and asking if we were all good! The food was also delicious! Made to perfection. I personally was a fan of the chow mein, peppered beef and the shrimp! And the mini Chinese donuts were the best way to finishing off the meal!
This by far is the best Chinese food restaurant experience I have had in my life. If you’re from Edmonton you should be very proud that you have a hidden gem here, and probably one of Canada’s best Chinese food restaurants in the country.I couldn’t help but reminisce about the days going out for Chinese food with my parents in the 1990’s , I recall the thick paper napkins, the cherry that came with the drinks, reading the menu on the paper placemats, drinking water from the bronze colour glasses, eating the big handmade egg rolls and watching the colourful goldfish. These are fading traditions in many Chinese Restaurants across Canada, however at The Lingnan you can still experience all of this.You will be completely impressed with the selection of food items, and drinks. The customer service was impeccable. The food was flavourful, and tasted fresh. Portion sizes, and presentation was amazing.That saying don’t judge a book by it’s cover, well don’t judge this place from the exterior of the building. The ambiance/decor was the best I’ve ever seen in a Chinese food restaurant in Canada, it’s truly an Instagramming dream!This is a family business that has operated for well over 65 years. They definitely work hard for your business. I was completely impressed by how the restaurant staff took the time to go outside and shovel out a path for me to get through as the city had plowed a huge wall of snow and ice in front of the side walk from clearing off the street.The Lingnan offers a buffet before Oilers games, and they serve their to go noodles in fancy carton containers (the kind you see in the movies)If you’re visiting Edmonton, Alberta like I am at the moment, this must be on your list to check out this truly one of a kind hidden gem!
