Had a fun time here! I don’t really like seafood much but I got the headless shrimp and it was delicious. But it is pricey especially for something I could have made easily at home for half the price. Fun for an occasion though!

Mixed feelings on Captain broil. First off the place is WAY over priced. $44 for 1lb of crab $75 for 1lb of lobster. The market prices stated are not correct as I actually googled them just to see the day we were in the restaurant because The prices were boggling which explains why the restaurant was empty. Second the portions are soo small I HAD TO order more just to get full. I love the idea of Captain broil, my 6 year old had a blast here but her meal was $44. I am definitely disappointed and probably won’t return as I can get way better bang for my buck somewhere else and also feel full.I do want to add that the service was really good, the food was tasty and the restaurant was lovely. I do think that this can be a very successful business if prices and portions were re-evaluated.

We totally enjoyed the selection of food .. disappointed that there were no oysters as we took our Friend there to try - will come back for sure ??

I'm really mixed on how to write this review. On one hand, we enjoyed ourselves as we laughed at how ridiculous the meal was compared to what we'd been expecting. So in that case it was fun. We visited for our wedding anniversary before a movie out. We struggled a bit with understanding how to order from the menu, with no help or direction from staff, and we ended up ordering far too much food even though on the menu it seemed like that's what you would order for two people. So keep that in mind when you are ordering. We choose options for the mateys boil (two flavours of shrimp). As others have said, we were shocked when the food arrived in large plastic bags and was dumped unceremoniously on the table. No plates, no utensils, two plastic spoons were left for (I'm assuming?) the rice. Even the three side dishes came all together in a plastic bag (we ordered potatoes but they were literally just cut in half - so I guess you eat them like an apple?). The food was ok. There was some deep fried shrimps that were amazing. There was no way we could eat it all, and since it cost over 100.00 we had to drive home to drop the left overs in the fridge before the movie. I guess we can make soup tomorrow? We're going to laugh about this for a while, but I don't think we will be going back. I'm not sure why cutting so many corners is a thing there. Honestly I would have been much happier with a plate, cutlery, and maybe a quick how to order guide or video so I understood what we were getting into.

Took my daughter here and we had so much fun eating with our gloved hands. The food was messy but AMAZING! Can't wait to go back.

Not fair for the price. We ordered good for 4 persons ..I paid $200 for that food?.. too expensive and no effort of serving the food.. I understand that this is all for seafood ..but no choices of all these like serving shrimp with peel they have to ask customers for variation of how we like to serve it. I don't come back here for sure.

Picked up order failed to check, my bad? However hard to check tightly tied plastic bags. When home, fair distance from restaurant, found the order shorted. Called and expected follow up with items by “Skip “. No satisfactory response. Will not be here again!

First... the server could not get the order straight. I ordered 1/2lb headless shrimp and 1/2lb crawfish with cajun sauce and fire hot. I got 8 shrimp with heads and about 12 crawfish. The shrimp were mushy... not firm at all. I must have gotten mild because my friend ordered mild. He ordered no head shrimp and got shrimp with heads too. He could not eat his shrimp and got the server to give him what he ordered. In about 5 minutes he got his headless shrimp in a sauce that he did not order. In other words, either the chef could not read the order correctly or the server never listened to either of us when she took the order. There is another place in the Atlanta area called the "Juicy Crab". It is the same type of menu with the same selections. Juicy Crab is a 10 on a 1 to 10 scale and the Captain's boil is a definite #0 in my opinion. I saw that this is a Canadian Franchise. I think the Captain's Boil aught to stay in Canada. One last thing.... if you are a large person, it is a hard squeeze to get into a booth. A couple of more inches in table distance would make the dining more enjoyable. A family of four would feel crunched in by using a booth. I have never sat at a booth with so little space. Maybe the Canadians are really small.

The food was not cooked very well, we ordered shrimp boil and everything was overcooked. When we tried to peel the shrimp it all turned to mush and the flavor was terrible. Also the portions are very little compared to what they charge; 10$ for a handful of fries that were soggy and flavorless.I wouldn't recommend eating here.

Interesting idea for a restaurant, but needs to be implemented better.Price should account for type of food, effort to cook food, amount of food, presentation of food, among many other factors. The food, I believe, is simply boiled then shaken in a plastic bag with sauce and served. It doesn’t take much effort to serve the food they’re giving, and the price/ambience is not fair to customers. What I’m trying to get at, is you get similar if not better prices at Red Lobster and they go through much more prep to make your food. I understand this is your theme, but it just doesn’t seem worth how much you’re asking for.Another issue we had was the ‘famous’ seafood fried rice. There were barely any shrimp, the scallops were minced much too small (therefore we didn’t get very much), and the rest was just rice. For $17?? I liked the taste but $17 for some seasoned parboiled rice and 3 pieces of shrimp is a rip off to put it nicely. We ordered shrimp and my wife was put off by the head still attached and skin on. While I understand this is how they naturally are in the ocean, it would be nice to have the option of having your shrimp served peeled. I ended up peeling the shrimp for her and with it, all the flavour of the sauce it was shaken in. I mean it was $22, is the option to have my food prepped the way I like it too much to ask for?I was really looking forward to this place because family in Toronto has told me much about it, but I won’t be wasting my money here anymore.Good luck with your business and hope you can re-evaluate your prices. ??
