Ordered the Kitchen Sink pizza. Was excellent. The wings however, were disgusting. No flats, dry, and no sauce whatsoever.
I am visiting Edmonton for work and Sal's was suggested without any warning or heads up. Got a Donair Calzone. This was without a doubt one the most disgustingly beautiful things I ever put in my mouth. Absolute piece of art. I will never be the same after this. The quality of bread and ingredients is 5 star. Be warned....portions are western Canada big...therefore Toronto massive. I could only fit half in one sitting. Make this a mandatory stop if you are in town. Thanks Sal.
Business hours say until 11. It's 10:30 and I was refused service . I live in the area and wanted to get a Donair and find a new staple spot. The food is probably incredible but unfortunately I wouldn't know and I never will because I drove here for nothing and all I was told was in my opinion a rude comment of " we don't work for Google". Your business hours are the ONLY way customers are able to know when to come to your location to support your business. Really disappointed. Do better. That's not how you speak to potential customers.
The calzones are good. Depending on who makes em. They can come full of flavor and perfectly made. Or so much sauce that you could drown a baby elephant.
How have I never discovered this place before? Fantastic portion sizes, never cheap on ingredients, this is now my personal pizza craving place. Tried a calzone first and was so impressed went for pizza the very next day! Pan pizza with a perfectly greased pan so you don't have to drink oil as you eat, and a ton of toppings, it was everything I hoped for and more. Thanks guys!
This was the second time I went into Sal's Famous and ordered myself a calzone. I was just as impressed with it as I was the first time. The size of the calzone is worth the price, as it tastes terrific and fills you right up, with room to share. I consider myself to be a big eater, and I could only finish just over half of it. I highly recommend Sal's Famous Donairs any day.
Calzone was half cooked; $60 can't even eat the thing with the pathetic excuse of plastic cutlery they provide. Really missed the mark on this place. Dine in, no athmosphere, play some music or something maybe some staff with a personality would help this dive too. I will never return or recommend. Thanks for nothing, Sal. This place shouldn't last long.

Delicious!!! Ordered 2 calzones, fries and shakes. Everything was perfect…and HUGE. Had enough for lunch the next day (and maybe more). Shakes were tasty without being overly sweet or heavy. Friendly staff and helpful (actually warned me that I ordered too much for 2 people….he was right…lol). Torturous drive home smelling the calzones in the truck.People complain about the price…one of their calzones and fries could feed a family of 4! Do the math.
