Very tasty! I've always heard about Sakana from friends but I somehow didn't try it for nearly a decade. The staff were very nice both on the phone as I took a reservation and also in person. It gets surprisingly busy since it's a small place, so I'm glad I reserved a spot. Prices are a bit high but this may also be due to the current state of the world, since I've always heard it was an affordable stop for sushi. Menu is very complex and has a lot of pages to it. Still, it was worth it for the sashimi which was very fresh and the tempura which was hot and crispy.
30$ for this dinner bento. I get salmon is cheap but come on...and that teaspoon of white fish is just insulting. Sushi was good but much better options around Edmonton.
For the price, this is really meh sushi, I’ve had better in a lot of small town spots. This doesn’t cut it for Edmonton, especially for the prices they are charging.This was takeout and the salmon sashimi was good but yam yam, California rolls and spicy tuna maki were very poor.
salmon sashimi did not taste as fresh and some were more chewy like i was biting through a tendon.dragon eyes and yamyam roll was all sauce flavor.beef tataki was disgusting, basically raw beef soaked in lemon juice. ive had this in many different places and this was by far the worst.overall i dont think their ingredients are that fresh, since i cant taste it.
great food and service. fantastic atmosphere. the qr menu is annoying but I'm probably just a big baby.

Excellent service! They messed up on our order the first time I went and they doubled our order the next time we went and wouldn’t take payment for it!Me and my wife are new to Edmonton and the sushi here is the best we have had so far! I do need to try the sashimi and in house service still but for what we have experience yet, 10/10!
It was not busy when I went, but it's a great little place with friendly staff and great sushi! I had the BBQ Eel Maki Roll and it was delicious and filling.
Very fresh rolls and sashimi!! Authentic Japanese restaurant.The chirashi was amazing and large… will return to try more items on their menu.
I came here for lunch recently. The restaurant’s setup and service were nice. In terms of food, I tried their Lunch Bento and Yum Yum Sakana Roll. Although the prices for the items seemed high, the amount of food made it worth it. The Bento Box stood out to me for its presentation, quantity and variety of food, and overall quality (note that the sashimi was a bit less fresh than expected). The Yum Yum Sakana Roll was overwhelming in flavour after a couple of pieces.
