The place is spacious, clean, and well-lit. The hostess/server was good with her service. We had chicken lollipop, butter chicken with tandoori rotis. The chicken lollipop was crispy and non-oily. Butter chicken had ample chicken pieces and the gravy was rich. Flavour-wise, the food can use a bit of more spices for the Soth-Asian pallete.
I always stop at saffron to pickup the food every time I am in Edmonton. It’s my favourite place to go to.However if the chef or owner is reading this my humble request is to use less red colour in their food. All their gravies are red in colour.the taste is delicious but the colour puts you off.
My Mother and I discovered this restaurant a couple of years ago and now every time we go to Edmonton, we always make a point to stop and eat here or take it home. They have the most amazing, dishes! The one we always get is their veg pakoras. They look as delicious as they taste and theirs are unique with all the flavours. The service is always too notch as well. I would give this place more than 5 stars if it was an option!!
I never write reviews but I feel the need to warn others. We were very much looking forward to trying this restaurant after reading all of the great reviews. Feeling confused now and wondering if the staff are reviewing on here as I’m the reviews do not reflect the quality you would expect from a restaurant. The first thing you will notice when eating the Butter chicken is that is tastes almost exactly like a cheap can of cream of tomato soup. If your a fan of cheap canned soup then fine but to pay almost $20 Per person (so $40) + rice, naan bread & pakoras so almost €$70 for an entry that tastes like $1.99 canned soup? What restaurant uses cheap canned soup as a base for their dishes? Again we were very much looking forward to trying this place but won’t be trying again.
This was our first time going to Saffron and it was fantastic! The service was great and the food was delicious, would highly recommend giving it a try if you are in the mood for Indian Cuisine!
We would like to praise the restaurant staff Kiran, We had placed a take out order and went to our hotel after a long day of shopping. When we started eating the appetizers we realized that they are a little extra Salty than usual, We called up the restaurant and spoke to Kiran. She was Kind enough to not only replace our entire food order but she also got the food delivered to our hotel. This is an example of great customer service. Wishing you all good luck.
Horrible Chicken. I mean it’s just one of the bad stuff i have tried in my life. Please don’t visit this place for starters. Using colors in their almost every food item and btw look at the green chutney. Looks Neon to me.
We are really thankful to the whole staff that they kept our baby stroller for almost 10 days even after my friend told them that stroller didn’t belong to us.We went there for a b’day party and overall food quality was very good and staff is very friendly and responsive.Highly recommend this place for quality food and best service.
Don't ever order the chicken lollipop from them. This is the 2nd time the chicken was stale and smelled rotten. The first time around it was more than a year and a half ago and it was horrible. Since, then they have upgraded their restaurant and thought of giving it another try assuming the quality would have improved. Same issue this time around. Highly disappointed.
Terrible experience. Worst service. They knew, they would be getting 18% gratuity as we were a group of 10 people so no server cared to refill water or to come near the table. Nizami handi is the worst gravy that I had ever tasted smelled like mehndi(heena). Paneer tikka masala was like paneer lababdar full of tomato gravy. Would not recommend to anyone. Rumali roti was no way rumali, it was like a naan(very thick). Next time if this is the only place open, I would prefer to sleep hungry but would never go to this restaurant.
