New review below.Original review:Helpful staff, clean store, good selection over all, and freshly made cakes (including Black Forest cake with real whipped cream) in the bakery section.Having more check outs open at one time would be nice during busier times of day.New review: The Black Forest cake went from Black Forest cake to this bakery just slapping a thin film of whipped cream on a chocolate cake and pouring a bit of cherry pie filling-type stuff on top in the centre of the cake. About half the time, the whipped cream isn't real whipped cream but what they call "mislabeled" oil-based "whipped cream" they say shouldn't have been labelled as real whipped cream.And instead of a maraschino cherries on each of the 6 little whipped cream "peaks", now we're lucky to get 2 or 3 cherries on a cake, and at least one cherry has a pit in it every time. Never had pits before. No labelling on the cake box to show cherries have pits in a day and age where getting in to see a good dentist is horribly difficult.An older relative loves maraschino cherries, and likes genuine Black Forest cake, and is very unhappy about what the bakery has started doing.It's disappointing (and dangerous) the way this bakery has gone in the past few months.Also, they often put cakes in paper boxes. I say paper because the boxes are like business card stock, not cardboard, and the box stinks like chemicals, which transfers to the cakes. The white birthday cake we ordered in February had to be thrown away. It smelled and tasted like the box, and the flimsy box kept caving in and scraped off the thin layer of icing from most of the cake.This bakery just keeps cutting back on quality and quantity. I realize they want to make more profit, but they're driving away long-time customers.
Tracy my cashier was friendly, and courteous. Dot at the Starbucks makes the best coffee!
Shelves are well stocked. Prices are rising. Will be paying closer attention to prices. Cashier was very friendly, didn't see staff pit on the floor.
Love the people that work here. I have had great service here. Especially from the nice lady at the flower shop. I enjoy the conversations and the help she gives. I remember the first time, she was like Aww this choice of flowers is nice! These ain't 'doghouse flowers' are they?!I was like huh?I mean you're not buying these cause you did something wrong did you?I died laughing..... She was absolutely right. Loool but just that time. I made sure to return and now I go see her every chance I get. She's wonderful. ??
I am not usually one to write a bad review. And I’m not usually one to shop at SafewayBUTI called in wanting a simple chicken pot pie, and asked if their sandwich station was open. Both deli items.When I called there was no chicken pot pie but was assured they would put one in for me and I’ll be there at 6pm (2 hours in advance). I got there at 6 and said, I’ve ordered the chicken pot pie for pick up… they told me they gave it to someone else and proceeded to tell me I can get a family one for $16 or get a cold one…. Which defeated the whole purpose of my visit. Then I went to the sandwich station…. And they have many types of bread. I asked for Italian, not avail. I asked for ciabatta, not available so I had to say ….. how bout you tell me what kind of bread you DO have?? It was one whole wheat and that was it….. so I even passed in the sandwich.Then…… I know that Safeway has a tomato bocconci salad so thought to get that instead and it was not available.So I specifically called this Safeway, made sure about the sandwich station, and the chicken pot pie…. The salad was not mentionedNeedless to say I left the store with nothing and went to subway……Step up deli….. step up
To the bakery, thank you!!!We had a delicious cake.Their 3 layer cake with custard filling was delicious. I had a last minute order for my employee Appreciation Day and they made a custom cake that my team truly appreciated. They thought it tasted great. !!! Your service and hard work made my 56 employees very very happy. ?

Pharmacy at this location needs better management and staff training. Just got a prescription refill and discovered (by chance) that I was being charged instead of my insurance that they had on file. They admitted they had made a mistake with the earlier transaction, but they refused to fix it or refund my money. There are lots of smaller pharmacies in the local area that can provide better service.
This place ran a sale for bacon until the 19th of Jan. However,the bacon had a best before date that was Jan 10. BB and expiration are two different things I get it,but I saw the bacon even after the sale on the 21st. My wife doesn’t shop here anymore because she’s had this experience too many times with their meats. I was holding out but I see what she’s talking about. It’s not the first and I promise not the last for this kind of thing. Bs.
Nice staff, great selection of produce, floral is top notch as well.
