Great and welcoming place to jam out with fellow music lovers of varying skill levels
We were excited to visit here, as we were in from out of town and this was close to our hotel. BBQ sounded good and $12 sandwiches were in our budget. We arrived on a Monday night and there was an open-mic comedy thing going on. No worries, we headed to the booth the furthest from the stage. Only QR code menus, so I was scrambling for my reading glasses in the dark venue. One guest does not drink alcohol, so was happy to see a whole list titled WISH YOU WERE BEER - not realizing it was just a misleading pun, not an extensive list of non-alcohol brews. In fact, there was NO non-alcohol beer available. While we were waiting at our sticky table, we were trying to have a reasonable conversation, far from the stage and other guests. The speakers were very loud, so it was hard for my middle-aged ears to hear anything at all. Imagine our surprise and disgust when Noah, the comedy host, came over and HUSHED us! We were only trying to talk, NOT being disruptive or obnoxious! Since when do paying customers (who are not being a-holes!) get hushed at the very back, just for trying to have a conversation? Furthermore, the comedy was clearly very amateur, and really bad. The food wasn't much better. The $12 sandwiches were about what you'd expect from any fast-food place, and did not include any sides. The add-on cornbread was tiny and dry. The poutine was tiny and very little gravy. Overall a crappy experience. Our server was okay, but very slow. Can't recommend. Won't be back.
RCRH is one of my favorite spots in Edmonton❤ Every single staff member here is a lover of music, so warm and welcoming to everyone (Inclusion and safe space information is literally posted around the venue). The menu is super clever, with every item having a music-themed name (Creedance Cubano Revival sandwich, Kornbread, Fries Against), and I will put their wings up against any others in town, especially with the zingy mustard bbq sauce? a well stocked bar with plenty of local and craft brews, and all the spirits and liquers. There's something on stage every evening, from open jams and stand up to freestyle rap night and Soul Saturday's. Located beneath the iconic Starlite Room and The Temple, there is likely a cool show going on upstairs on any given night too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Staying at a nearby hotel, we were curious just what the River City Revival House was. More of a bar than a restaurant, but the food was very good, definitely a cut above what would normally be expected in a bar. It was very lively with a crowd of people having fun, but unfortunately no live music yesterday.
The Jack Sabbath at the River City Revival House is absolutely delicious ? delicious pulled Jackfruit in a coffee BBQ sauce w/ Coleslaw on some perfectly toasted bread ? Mouthwatering ?
The venue hosts regular top notch music from local players in addition to great food and atmosphere. Not to mention the collection of art on the walls.
Lovely atmosphere, food was delicious, all kinds of good beers on tap and in cans. Also.. live music so what's not to love?
100% the best bar experience I had. Food was amazing and I always love talking to the people who work there. The rapping tonight was also amazing. Definitely going as often as I can.
The most supportive, inclusive and amazing staff in the entire city. This is my home, and where I can go to have fun without fear. Ask for Cam, Laura or Jen. They will give you the best bar experience in all of Edmonton.
First visit, great beer and atmosphere. looking forward to going back to try food
